http://news.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t269-s2106596,00.html Well...I seen this at slashdot today, and I thought I would throw this link up. Its a really cool idea, esp for a portable system.

lol I find it stupid as he11 as well. You can watch the small or medium clip but not the large one.

Same here. Buying pre-fabbed cables is all well and good, but when I buy cables, I usually go for the most expensive cable I can buy. Why you ask??? There is a saying in car audio, your system is only as good as your weakest link, and that holds true for ANY system that uses cables.

Quote: I got everything with my EPSON580 USB Printer, also when they came to replace the 1st printer they gave us 2 new black and colour cartridges as a sorry for the printer being faulty. Very Good in my opinion. This is something, as far as I am concerned that rarely happens with replacement. Especially cartridges, as they are quite pricey. Maybe if epson stopped giving them away, the cost of printers may go down

Quote: But I guess I'm the exception that has had the cheesy cables break/fail on me though, eh? I also fall under that catagory. Even buying custom cables I ahve had some problems. $20 for a rounded floppy cable outta the states that cost more to ship than the actual product. No need to send that back ... but I guess that bad cabling can show up at any time.

99% of the time if a printer is acting up, a quick cleaning will do it. Not only the steel arm, but on some printers there is a "bar code" strip that can be whiped off. Also, the odd time, some rubber re-new on rubber rollers can help paper feed issues.

I have actually ran into some relatively new epson printers that have clogged heads. Cleaning them all day does no good. But, in epsons defense, I dont think I have seen one grind gears like an HP does after a year of use.

Is there anything with sharing that may enable this option???
-
Actually...I have a problem with epson printers. The printheads are not removable. I would rather have removable printheads than another lpt/usb cable. Also...I know of some low end lexmarks that are about $100 cdn that come only with a color cartridge to cut down on cost. They can hold both black and color, but ship only with one color. As far as I am concerned, the best support out there, speaking from a temporary worker at a repair/sale shop is from Brother. And their products rule!

I am actually having a similar but different problem. With Win XP PRO, RAID array with 2 - 40 gig maxtors and 2 IDE HDD on the primary channel, I am getting system files and reserved system resources on both the raid array (boot) and the 30 gig maxtor on the IDE channel. The FAT32 formatted 20 gig I have does not take on the system file traits, but for some reason, win xp is actually accessing the IDE controller ALOT during boot. I know this cause I kept the LED on the mobo as opposed to putting it on the raid controller. Is there some kind of connection with this???? Whats the deal?

Clear the CMOS and see if that helps. There is also a weird "Reboot Time Delay" on some motherboards that make it do something like you noted. It is also cleared using a jumper/scewdriver.

How to install Linux under Quantum Disk manager
CrazyKillerMan replied to shassouneh's topic in Slack Space
Yeah, thats what I was thinking you tried. Have you tried a differing distro of linux??? -
I am not extremely well versed on some audio configurations, especially as far as hom theatre goes. I have an audigy and a logitech z560 setup. There are 2 connectors on the z560 that plug into the audigy repectivly. Is this 4.1 surround sound? If it is, then why on dvd's when I test sound, it works on the 4 sat's but not the sub-woofer for the ".1" bass??? Is there a special setting that needs to be allocated for the audigy or is this realisticly 4.1 audio? Heh...sorry if the question may sound stupid.
-
Well...see thats what I was thinking, but on a dvd there is a test for 4.1 audio, and there was no sound at all when the "sub-bass" was playing. It wasnt cause the frequency was to low, there is no sound what-so-ever. So...I was just wondering if this was a bunk test...or if there is crap I need to be hooking up as well as the speakers themselves

How to install Linux under Quantum Disk manager

http://www.linuxquestions.org/ I have had ALOT of questions answered by this forum. I have never owned a quantum hard drive, and have never have used the disk manager program in question. The question I have is this: You will need a minimum of 3 partitions, one for win2k and 2 for linux. Is this why you are running into problems??? Is the quantum disk manager limited to ntfs and/or fat partitions? -
o yah Its set up right. I get tons of bass when playing mp3z and movies, just when I do the 4.1 test there is no sub bass sound. Im just basiclly wondering if there is any configuration I need to do other than plugging in green jack to green cable, black to black and turn on power.

Everyone talks about overclocking, what about noise?

Quality of your HSF combo also makes a large difference. I have a Dragon Orb 3 4500 rpm. On my 1.2 tbird, it cools it just as well as the Volcano 6Cu+ which was LOUD!!! I have 2 - 92 mm intakes and 1 - 92 mm blowhole, along with 2 80 mm fans above hard drives shooting hot air out. The case is prolly around 45-50 dB. The problems with adding some serious fans comes down to dB. When taking a 40 dBa fan and adding it to 3 30 dBa fans, the total is going to depend on the loudest fan. 6dB is about twice as loud. So when dealing with a moderate 40 to 50 dB and jumping that to 55 - 60 dB is going to increase overall loudness to the human ear like mad. Where I downgraded the speed of my HSF and added more intake fans, the noise is still less and it actually cools better now than ever. Sound damping will help alot, as long as the material is placed strategically, there could be a respectable AND noticable dampining in decibels. So if you are stuck on a HSF method of cooling, I would recommend something other than an all aluminum solution. There are alotta great HSF out there, you just have to check out some reviews. I am happy with the dragon, but there are some new heatsinks out on the market that use techniques that increase surface area, which increases cooling. HS design is alot. -
