Trillian is definatly cool, but to many bugs for my liking still. I am using the newest version of icq, and I dig, cause contacts are stored online, but I prefer 99b also. When trillian starts to get all functions working it will own everything.

ASUS A7M266 + SB Audigy = audio skipping (WinXP)
CrazyKillerMan replied to Shin_Magus's topic in Hardware
Actually...I have the same mobo and soundcard as you. I had the soundcard set in pci slot 5 and changing it to 4 increased bandwidth, and stopped the audio skipping. I believe that slots 5 and 6 are shared as far as resources go. Also...if you have a network card in there, is that hogging the PCI bus from the audigy??? Try up[censored] the nic driver or removing it from the system to see if that helps. Have you gotten the 4-in-1's from via? www.viaarena.com I think that the 686B needs 2 out of the 4 drivers, after a default XP installation anyways. Hope this helps. -
Have a good one....

Stop 0x0000001E KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED address fbed2226 has base at fbec5000 - tcpip.sys Ok...is there anyway this can be fixed? I installed a modem in this NT machine and upon reboot. I removed the modem, same error. I tried last known good profile and default profile on start up. Tried VGA mode, and nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions at all for me? I am really at a loss here fella's. I am not TO familiar with NT and I was wondering if there is any way to repair the installation. The reason I want to repair it is because there is a $600 software package installed, and the discs with that software package have been lost. Its a intel p2 400, on a genuiene intel mobo (chipset illudes me, its not infront of me) with NT workstation running on it. The problem was that we were unable to dial into the internet, and I was trying to get it working. If anyone has any suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate anything. Thanks

Quote: I'm not sure who, I think CrazyKillerMan or ThC129 did a dual boot with Win2k and 98 on the same partition at one point. Take the time to make a seperate partition...one works for awhile, but then crap starts hapenin. I dual booted win2k and win98se, it worked cause I relocated my 98SE program files, to another hd before i installed 2k, and as we all know, winnt and windows are two seperate directories so you USUALLY dont run into problems there. Having them on the same partitions though, each OS will keep track of most used programs for optimal performance...which means when u boot into 98se and defrag, then go back into 2k, it will be a mess! Jeez brian that was a long time ago. Nice memory.

my problem between the two is i dont like windows media player at all. And, my hard drive space ISNT limited at all. I use lame and EAC to rip to mp3, so the quality is excellent. I have a feeling some of those underground formats may emerge soon.

Good luck in your future endeavors and I'll be sure to send those pics. I strolled around there a couple times and it does look like a solid forum. You may see some posts from me around there.

I have downloaded ATI's capture driver for the card as stated on their site. I have installed the drivers and Windows XP is still saying its a new multimedia controller. The system is a P4 runnig winxp HOME. Has anyone tried getting this card to work with XP? and if you did get it working, could ya lend a hand?
