nice product. I also hope the drivers are up to par, and after reading the article it seems they will definatly try. I have a radeon 64 meg now....and Im glad i didnt get an nvidia card. Nvidia products are sweet...and I have had nothing but greatness with my old tnt2U...but I like the ati's display a bit better, to my eyes it seems alot smoother.

against high speed??? hehehe iknow how it feels a friend of mine lives in a town with 5 ppl in it. His connection is worse though....hes lucky to get 4 K/sec

I can vouch for Brian Frank. Did the same with me. After a clean install, I re-installed NU and ran the registry checker, it "fixed" some errors, rebooted and BAM NTLDR missing hahahaha

havent had a probelm with my asus board. Asus A7M-266 its pretty stable, has the speed of the amd 760 chipset and has active chip cooling. I was also looking at tyan boards, which are pretty good as well.

Howdy... Just wondering if this is posible: I have created a gif for web display. The gif is 5 different ovals attached with a line (similar to that of a web). What I want to do with this picture is change it on mouseover. This is a fiarly strightforward task, but what I want to do seems to be more complex. Keeping in mind I dont know alot of java (just basics really) and what I want to do is create 5 or so differing images and for each mouseover on each oval, the pic will change displaying the "sub topics" of the highlighted image ie: Behavior Oval; on mouse over; displays the same gif as before except by the oval; Mobility, Migration and Intelligence appears. Then when going to another topic oval, other "sub topics appear" Is there any way of doing this using one big picture??? Any suggestions/new outlooks are welcome.

ye ye i hear that textpad all the way just gonna seperate using macromedia fireworks dont have alotta exp with it so...gonna give it a try
-
thanx for the speedy reply but I have figured out how to do it. it was 5 images...all the same...but just differences so when I put mouse over a certain area....a certain image appeared. Im gonna use fireworks to split the image up (so dl isnt a problem, instead of 5 big ones, 10 small ones when needed) and using the image map tags i will place the javascript in the <AREA> tags. Unless there is a better suggestion?

Will ATA 133 be much faster than ATA 66 or ATA 100? What doe
CrazyKillerMan replied to imtim83's topic in Hardware
I wouldnt upgrade to ata133 at all. I have dual ata100's in raid. -
i wouldnt say that....its prolly my interpretations.

yah thats what I thought. Its just that many users have 98 on thier machines and some programs we are testing at work (mobile agents) need tcp connections...so the 98 user is kinda fudged. But...Im not involved in this project ... just office talk.

I may have not been paying attn before, but i have noticed that clutch and EddiE314 are now moderating all forums as well as SHS. Congratz guys and its going smoothly already I assume? ...more moderators is definatly cool... maybe keeping out more of the jdu***** sort.

Quote: Win2K Pro will usually work fine, however the OS is limited to 10 concurrent connections. Was it 5 in 98??? Has M$ increased this number for win2k pro? I know the server versions allow alot more concurrent tcp connections right?

...just about the jdu***** thing. Re-ignited the flame.

jeez....im sorry I even said anything...gridlock once again. ;(

well... why not set the burner as a master in IDE 0. Try it out and if it works...you can leave it. I would do it this way.....BACKUP data to the OS Hard Drive that is on the ata66 controller (by placing the ide 0 master as the dvd/burner)and then try moving them around....if it fudges you can re-create the array then place the backup back onto the new raid array, then that way you shouldnt loose any data (assuming you are striping and not spanning, with spanning you wouldnt loose too much data). Raid kinda bothers me too about that. I have never switched around the assignments, but i have the promise fastrak 100 and it is also software driven. note: Also make sure to change bios boot settings. I believe that my bios uses "SCSI DEVICE" to enable me to boot from the raid array on the add-in card...im sure itll be all in the ata66 manual.

defragging multiple partitions / volumes / drives under Wind
CrazyKillerMan replied to shassouneh's topic in Customization & Tweaking
all you ahve to do is use "Set it and forget it" then simply set up each individual drive to start at a time. Example: My system has1 raid array with 2 partitions and 1 20 gig drive C: every 24 hours from 4am to 6am D: every 24 hours from 2am to 4am E: every 24 hours from 12am to 2am or something like that.....i only have it on during weekdays....as with weeknds im on the computer till the wee hours. -
WIth my a7m-266 I have not run into ANY problems at all running my system. AMD 1.2 GHz 256 DDR 2 - 30 Gig Maxtor 7200 rpm RAID 1 - 20 Gig fujitus 1 - LG 12x8x32 1 - Pioneer DVD ATI Radeon 64 meg ddr and running win2k (linux werks as long as you have new kernel) and tons of appz, adobe photoshop, reason, cakewalk sonar....with no problem. Id recommend getting this asus board as the bios revision is final and its been rock solid for me.

Just wondering what everyone thinks is the best software for designing web gifs for a new website (re-doing mobile agent website from scratch).
