1 Mbps up/down would be enough, as long as you don't hog up the b/w for yourself -
What do you consider the best computer game ever made?
jdulmage replied to pr-man's topic in Slack Space
Diablo 2 is the only game I have been able to install and keep installed for longer than 6 months. It is also the only game I have been able to play and not lose interest for more than 2 months. Games like Soldier of Fortune, Superbike 2001, the original Diablo. Some RPGs, some action games. I have installed and either uninstalled immediately after viewing only for 10 minutes or I have beaten them and lost interest immediately. (Dungeon Siege is a good example of "quick fix" gaming). So Diablo 2 would be my pick. Now if you said console gaming, then you've got me stumped, and I would have to play all of the games again to compare. Of course, it would only be Nintendo or Super Nintendo, because they've brought out the best games for consoles. -
Uhh.. Something funny There, I said it CrazyKillerMan, my business is DSP Computers. It is only home based right now, though ordering, kinda like how Dell is. You don't actually get to see anything, we process orders as they come in, and then delivery or pick-up by us. Ok, now to say something funny... Hmmm...What's an intelligent blonde? . . . A Golden Retriever Bye bye now.

I think he means the BIOS yes. It's nothing to worry about, however, check your connections just to make sure something isn't getting bumped that is disconnecting a card or cable. I remember once when I had a card in the slot a little loose, so when I hit my power button, I bumped the tower enough to loosen the card, thus Update Success appears.

Quote: Well, if it makes you feel better, you have more RAM than me. YAY, thanks By the way, it's one_2_three, Philipp was nice enough to give me my old account back, even though I really don't deserve it

Haven't you noticed that all of the questions asked here are all about Windows 2000 and the errors it has or is given out to people. Some games don't work, hardware doesn't work, BSOD, illegal operations, sudden changes in the OS. Just goes to show that the OS isn't very good. I "was" using Windows 2000 awhile ago and got rid of it because it simply stinks. I rather have better compatibility in return for the odd error or two, then have a stable OS and nothing working right. That's why it's stable, cause they made sure next to nothing works on it, they "babied" it to get it working right. Crappy apps, games and hardware support, but it's stable. Now i like Windows 2000 because of it's features, but if w2k is not going to run programs well then forget it. There was only 1 program, one that i use a lot, called RPGMaker 95. I was done testing all of my games and apps with windows 2000 and discovered they all ran, last proggy on the list was RPG Maker, go to start it, doesn't work. Because of 1 program not running, which happened to be the one i use a lot, i had to uninstall windows 2000. edit!! although I don't believe this anymore, it's still funny to see this post. I shouldn't have edited it, oh well...lol [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 20 December 2000).]

don't matter to me, WMP8 opens just as fast here as WMP 6.4 does now, especially when the 1 MB usage or so now. WMP8 is better on my machine here than WMP 6.4 and I rather have the 8.0 codecs, they are smoother as far as quality and stuff

i'll add onto what eddie said.. (fades out) here is what happens has a result of this forum going downhill like it has been in the past couple of months, due to the unprofessional attitudes that this place holds now, rather than the way it used to be. this wouldn't have happened with it wasn't encouraged edit: it was changed by either eddie or admins now, haha

It ain't just me, but the past 3 months in this forum have shown unprofessional attitudes, pointless posts, rude and personal situations with damn near half to 3/4 of the posts made here. This forum is starting to suck. Counntless flame wars over OS's, processors, video card companies, hardware, software, the works....everything being flamed all the time, shows NO professional attitudes by ALL of us, including myself. And why is this? because people are trying propaganda all over this forum, it's almost as if each one of us works for the company or lives by the piece of whatever (hardware, software) that we are sticking up for. It is causing a lot of people to leave the forum, complain, flame, etc. I have gotten lots of e-mail from people that know me on the forum, saying "Doesn't anyone give useful answers at NTCompatible?". My answer is always the same, it is "We all are losing it". So, we all are entitled to our opinions, that's great, wonderful news. But we should try doing it in a professional manner, here are some examples of both: Professional: "Windows Millennium doesn't seem to run nearly as good as Windows 98 on my machine" Unprofessional: "Windows Millennium is lame, it's a gay OS that should not have been made, doesn't even run well here compared to windows 98" see the difference? We should be pushing the professional approach, don't call something names and put it down, just give your general errors, problems, etc, then things will be done. Nobody calls a help desk and says that Netscape is being gay, so why do it here? We are ALL losing our professional touch, including myself, I should be using my knowledge more than my smart mouth remarks, and I think a lot of people agree on this. Take it for what it's worth, i'm just suggesting a way that you, I, and others that join could make this place a whole lot better, and a little less chaoic. Thank you. i'm trying not to flame as badly, but it's hard when it's 1 on 5 or the occasional 2 on 5 (with Eddie314)

hahahaha, in the last week, this thing named "Cats" has been all over the world. Just look at this. The original site: http://rmitz.org/AYB3.swf A parody of it: http://www.psxemu.com/news/ktalk/982492875,65688,.shtml And now this, Am I hot or not website: http://www.amihotornot.com/r/?eid=OQK8RR&key=PHX ahahahahaha, I just had to post this

i figured I had a right to bump this post up to the top, considering some of us in this forum need to here it again, about their attitudes and behavior, which has been poor for some as of late. I'm starting to wonder why I post here anymore, 90 % of the posts on this forum are not questions or discussions, there are comments directed at an individual or they are "meant to hurt" posts, of which I fall victim to one of those. my suggestion is think before you post and think about your post and what the results could possibly be.

i know, but i'm trying to explain to you that it's a feature, not something that is just happening out of the blue, it underlines that stuff with wal mart, ebay, microsoft, at&t, all of them companies
-
uhhhhh, this is not WinXP for one thing, this is IE 2465.3 running on a different OS. It has a feature to do smart tags, and yes, SHS is a finicial stock group, you may not be, but there is a group called that, so why are you arguing about it?
-
haha, in IE 6, build 2465.3, it has this feature that if it knows the company and information about it, it'll have a smart tag underlined so you can see more information about it. I guess SHS is a finicial group, because his name is underlined all over this forum, hehe next off, It's not his first language, he is probably German.

i think Paul Richardson mentioned to me that he would make sure it was fixed for RTM. So I know there is a bug in the auto dialing system, but it'll be fixed
