here is the first example of an idiot that can't shut up already, one of the ones that is putting this forum's status down badly [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 04 March 2001).]

oh god, will you all shut up already. all that happens here is flaming, arguing and crap, this board has dropped in professional status since the last couple of months. I take responsibility for some of it. but now it's to the point where if almost anyone starts a post, it turns into a war. Why are you complaining to the forum? do you think we really care about whether or not your going to buy for your computer systems or not. All that goes around about XP and it's anti-piracy stuff is rumors and lots and lots of assuming when you don't know jack. I get a lot of info from sources near or working at MS, so it's fairly clean cut, straight out news. Perhaps a whole lot of you should just sit up, shut up, start acting your age, get professional, and we will all do the same in return. These types of people have ruined the forum since they arrived (I am aware that I take some of the blame, but certainly, at least, lately, I don't take even 2 % of it)
-
yeah, let's just halt right now, and freeze the computer world forever in this state, because you know, you guys may actually have to pay something rather than stealing it for once.
-
I think you are a little confused there buddy..your thinking of remote assistance, which is a feature that allows you to chat with MS, and allow employees and techs to take control of your system in hopes to show you how to do something, rather than explain it, and you have the CHOICE of allowing that user to connect to your system. It's a way better way of doing things and you can do it between two regular ppl, not just MS

Aureal Vortex cards will be supported in the final release of Windows XP
-
wow? so you've seen the prices of XP eh? wow, I didn't know you knew how to travel into the future. How do you know that it's not going to be like $59 upgrade, $109 full or some crap like that? You don't, so shut up already
-
ummmm, you can't get that to work? uhh, make a shortcut of the installer, emulation mode, windows 2000. it works now, that worked for me, I dun see how it can't for you
-
haha, yeah, if your doing some video or sound editing, use a mac, everything else, use a PC. Mac's are still lame
-
don't forget Napster, may as well add them onto the list. How about some Dell computers being packaged with AOL, wtf. Let's add in AOL trying to dominate the instant messenger world, yep there allowed to do that too. AOL has AOL 6.0, ICQ, AIM, Netscape (who cares, it's dead), and many others. Go to hell, bunch of jealous US companies

Mac OS X was just released, they are done with the GUI, now they are working on the extra things, like that BSD and stuff. Thanks for improving my point even more
-
yeah, you realize that the explorer shell is NT 6.0 in Windows XP now eh? so it's no longer this minor upgrade. If you actually ran XP 2419 Advanced Server (impossible to find, but it's out there). You'll see that it blows away 2000 Advanced Server, with it's new server features, etc. Minor upgrade my *** . It's the OS that it should have been and the OS that i've always wanted, win2k just didn't cut it
-
hah, if you like, run a server or something, most won't move to it (nice life) other than that, XP blows 2000 out the door in all performance tests on this system. trust me, I always do extensive tests on operating systems before I move to them. anyways, that's just my system, god knows what anyone else is running. difference is that Mac focused too much on the GUI and not enough on features, stability, etc. (it isn't stable really, it just has a lot of crap hidden and protected like a security blanket) MS actually did the correct thing, they built a good OS (whether you want to argue or not, Windows 2000 is a very good, stable platform). Now they work on some extra features, cut down on the speed reducing in win2k, and work on the GUI. If Apple would have done that, they would stand a chance, now Macintosh, Apple, whatever, just plainly is as newbied up as AOL. Absolutely garbage
-
yeah, haven't you noticed that nobody here knows how to take a joke? yep, I have noticed that. btw, my 700 + posts, only about 20 % of those posts were really nothing, the other 80 % were help. I would know.
-
then why bother ranting about it?
-
could have sent them to MS, sometimes it gets done
-
uhm... this is a Windows XP forum section, not WinMe, who said anything about that? I was talking about XP, I couldn't care about winme, win2k, winnt, they all suck
-
perhaps you could have given those ideas to someone that gives a damn
-
oops, aren't you running a beta? man, you guys are stupid. How about making some judgements after it's finished? losers
-
what an idiot you are buddy.. don't use xp if you don't want to activate it. If I was in the same position, I would also put that kind of crap on my applications with all of the stealing that goes on. You guys are basically saying "We don't want to pay for software, yet we get mad when they try to stop that" not to mention your clueless comments, you don't even know the end results and your assuming, it's funny stuff. Not to mention that your also clueless about what's new in whistler, which is basically, win2k multiplied by 10. lamers [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 01 March 2001).]
-
yes, I finally agree with him
-
some people are naive
-
ugh, once again.. it sends hardware info to MS, that's all, it's was a badly started rumor
-
haha, it sends your hardware info once, and that's it, I am a tester, it does no more tha that. MS ain't trying to do crap.. as for the activaction, I don't know, I just had to laugh and post something
-
don't think they have put it back in yet, that's all
