what you say? someone with brains, MSGuy, I salute you for the stating the obvious points that no one else realizes, MS DOES NOT WRITE THEIR OWN DEVICE DRIVERS nuff said -

well....i'm saying, if the ISA device runs, great job, if it doesn't, dun complain, it was your choice to use crap ISA to begin with -
yea, I have, but still, for raw speed, XP does just as fine as 98/Me on my machine and i'm sure when it's done, it'll be that way. I mean, gamers want compatibility, gamers want speed, don't gamers want overall performance increases (NT) and things like a full powered Fusion? (the thing that stops dll was screwing each other up). It's dumb, but it's funny to hear that ppl will stay with 98

anyone that sticks with that for "hardcore" gaming doesn't even need to have a computer, they should be buying consoles, I don't see how XP would not support the same stuff as 98/Me.

urg.. 1) Get XP Pro always 2) Games that worked in win2k + a lot more work in XP 3) You need like maybe a little more RAM, 128 + is awesome 4) Bloated? ahaha, I love when people say "bloated" about as OS, when of course you can't bloat an OS, because there will always be things you can do to it. Overall, win2k is bullsh1t compared to XP. And when XP is done, that'll be just the icing on the cake

among DOS, among Aureal, and again, among ISA, they are all DEAD. How do you expect an ISA NIC to work? your nuts if your still using anything ISA -

uhm.. if you were a beta tester, you'd know that they are currently working on getting Aureal cards (among other hardware devices) working properly. They get the drivers from whomever is making them (MS does not make their own sound card drivers that often) You'll have to wait until that support is out then. -
done your little childish rants? [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 25 February 2001).]

yea, that would be cool

only a few posts? wow, in March when I did that, man.....41 pages later...

another bullsh1t post... who cares really? if nobody wanted it this way, it wouldn't be this way, MS just doesn't make stuff off the top of their heads, it's YOU!, yes, YOU, the user that decides, trust me, I have seen how they do things, they go by what users want. We know what the future is, it'll be with NT, with win2k and XP (XP for the real users, Win2k for the goofs)....so....it's pointless talk...it's like oh my god, i'm so jealous of Microsoft, so let's start childish things against them (lame). You want to talk about stolen stuff, Apple stole from Xerox, and Linux...bwhahahaha, i won't even start, it's just unix with choice guis that were stolen from MS. Give this crap a rest, because it has lamer and jealousy written all over it [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 24 February 2001).]

hmmmm, me thinks about version numbers, oops, stupid product creator put an OS check in for only Version 5.0!! and not 5.x like they should have....oops, looks like the program isn't going to run. (their fault) You'll most likely be waiting for XP versions of applications and/or patches for that, because frankly, it's mostly the product company's fault.
-
that's the spirit I wanted to hear...
-
nah, your fricken clueless on their proposed ideas....it ain't gonna be anything like that
-
so they say it's an "upgrade".. bull, should be NT 5.5 or NT 6, not 5.1 (I hope they change that)
-
I don't have time to list that many things, i'm done, this thread is over with, god lame...
-
haha, there is a lot more in XP than that, obviously you speak with no clue as to what your saying.. I'm upgrading to XP frankly because win2k is a crumb in comparsion. I want a fast, stable, compatibility, gaming OS that runs all of my stuff and allows me to do stuff easier and better than before, XP is the only thing suited to that description. Win2k is nothing in comparsion. So, I'll be defintely upgrading

funny thing is, I think that's only a prob with certain chipsets, because my friend and my cousin both have the voodoo 3 2000 and 3000 respectively and no problems running it since 2419

oh god, here we go with another flaming session, i won't post anything except http://dspbeta.webtoolsplus.com and i'm leaving it at that
-
i already did a long time ago, it's a driver problem (Nvidia probs, not MS's probs).. they are looking into getting Nvidia to test things out again

ATA100 works fine here

don't you remember the March spark? where some places reported Windows Codenamed: Millennium has been cancelled well, they were going to cancel it, then they saw that it was already too far to stop now. In my view, it was meant to be already installed, OEM preinstall on new machines, it was never meant to upgrade from 98/98SE. Anyways, it's the last 9x OS anyways. And XP ain't gonna pull no stuff. Plus, every OS has security holes, Linux has just as much, if not more holes, they are just not make as public as MS. If Linux was the top dealing, every time a little hole showed up, it would be hyped up just like things are with MS now. XP - thee future. Screw the rest of the old windows os's. Let's take a moment out of our time to remember the late, Dale Earnhardt who died in the Daytona 500 today. He was one of the best race car drivers in NASCAR, and will be remembered well by his friends and family. Long live Dale Earnhardt.....
