oh just shut the hell up

yeah, it's nice, they need to come out with a Beta 2 of it soon though, i'm tired of using beta 1. comes with vb.NET, C# (see sharp), loads of awesome **** , hehe.. http://dspbeta.webtoolsplus.com/vs.net mmkay?

1) Manufacturer is responsible for supplying MS with the drivers for your modem, so if it isn't supported, blame your manufacturer (I know that's a fact) 2) you may have to set up certain drivers for your hard drive, who knows, yet again a driver issue, see #1 3) it's impossible that you are using 2041, when Win2k was 2195. It's impossible that your using beta 2 approx 2 weeks before it's released. So, your most likely using 2410. I really don't even know what else to say, I am just ranting on, everyone else can anti-XP there way into the future (lamers), so i'll pro-XP back at you all. And there ain't a damn thing you can do about it.

and yet again, another useless flame post that we would do better without. Does anybody care what you have to think? don't like it? 1) Don't complain like a child and don't install it 2) Most of their ideas come from the common users (that's us). So blame others, instead of MS 3) .NET is probably the best i've seen in years, if you don't like it, there is something wrong with you. **gets out dictionary and looks up the word beta** This stuff ain't final, don't make judgement calls on a beta product. (Yet you see millions buying this stuff). MS has changed the way things have been, ways to think about computers, stuff that can be done with it, you should learn to thank them more often and quit the childish name calling and flame posts, windows XP is awesome. (most say it isn't as soon as they see one thing not work right for them in betas). On average, 80 % of the flames start when a user gets stressed out about the beta not allowing one or two things to function. Get a life </rant> [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 16 February 2001).]

well, i'm a official tester, I don't care, they can have all of my info, one of my graphics guys will change it if they want to. that site is mine, so what's your point?
-
of course, I've already installed it. and that UI is way better than the one they had before, once you actually start using it. even I was lurky about it, then I installed it and I soon found out that it's a very nice interface, and it still doesn't slow down here. And the answer is NO! about going back to the old one, that's why it's called a beta, they don't put stuff in it and plan to keep that same style all the time, they are throwing away the old UI's so that they can make better ones. and no, there is no luna in it, it's more like a preview of what's to come. You actually have to have it installed to realize all of this, the interface is different and stuff like that. Screenshots only tell half the story.

it's a hell of a lot better getting it from MSDN, trust me. w4r3z is like my last resort for **** now a days. I rather be on the safe side, they always stealing cuz you can't afford

I have the Universal account, it was well worth it

well, 2419 is considered "A serious tester build", because they just wanted you to see what they had in store and see how well it worked, or didn't work. As for the 2 hour install, well, when you take Windows 2000, and make it only about 100 times better, it'll take longer to install, wow, it's actually decent. Well, the private newsgroup still says this Monday for full release of Beta 2. MS removed all of the builds off of WindowsBeta, there is no way that they would do that 2 to 2 1/2 weeks before Beta 2, they've never done that before, and they won't now, it would shock me to see that. Anyways, still says Monday, we will see I guess. [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 11 February 2001).]

Do you have to be a official beta tester to report bugs?
jdulmage replied to Questionnaire's topic in Hardware
hah, report them to me, they'll go to MS -
yeah, bug the manufacturer then, it ain't MS's problem. Believe it or not, I don't really care which you think, MS gets about 90 % of their drivers from the manufacturers, so if a device is not working, bug the manufacturer
-
I'm a tester, it's not going to be different. Just better, more customizable and very malleable, which will cause almost infinite UI possibilites, from high or low color icons, modes, menus, skins, colors, styles, fonts, etc.

6.50 works fine here, NFS 5 works fine here. Beta 2 will be released tonight (Friday), or Monday anyways
-
yeah, you have a point. And it also hurts to answer the same questions over and over again, that's why we say "it's a beta OS, don't expect everything to work". The final solution is that nobody is forcing you to install it, you probably have illegally obtained it to begin with and if your whining about it, why not just wait until the final.
-
no doubt. You realize that about 90 % of the drivers that ship with MS's operating systems are made by the companies themselves. So if a piece of hardware is having a problem, blame the manufacturer, and you'll have to wait until the manufacturer sends another driver release for XP to MS for them to add in
-
yeah....I just noticed that....son of a b1tch then.. then you'll have to wait...
-
yep. NS is dead
-
remove your NIC completely from your computer, and then try again, once it's installed, you can put the network card back into the computer and it'll detect and everything will continue. If not, the only other solution is to wait for a newer build.
-
throwing a guess out the ground, Beta 2 on February 14 That's a guess
-
excellent question, has been addressed. You should tell me what type of modem and/or network card you have, and whether it's ISA or PCI, or USB, or whatever. I'll get back to you when you have that info
-
whatever, Eddie is right anyways, last time i post to this thread, it's starting to become lame [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 07 February 2001).]

Well, first, why are we all arguing over a name? Let's look at some things Famicom = Family Computer. Makes sense, it kinda was. Linux = Linus + Unix. Makes even more sense XP = eXPerienced, Cross Platform (kernels, not OS's or consoles), XML Protocol, hell, it could mean all of those. MS is using eXPerienced I guess. and that makes sense now look at Mandrake or Slackware, or Dreamcast. Mandrake = a plant that when you pull it up from it's roots, it'll scream, not like you or I do, it's more of an air thing I think. Slackware = sounds like software that was done and slacked off on Dreamcast= so I can broadcast dreams with this thing or something? the tables can be turned both ways here
-
EX??? we aren't even talking about EX, get a life. 1) It's XP (Cross Platform). It fits perfectly. It also means "eXPerienced". But that's a gimmick they are using. 2) Whistler is the name of a ski resort, so them using it is unlikely in the final 3) Windows.NET?? This really isn't a .NET application according to MS. Face it, it's the future, they thought up of a real name, without using gay dates, good for them. It's just a title, it's not like it's gonna make or break things.
