can't be the anti-piracy thing...if you did your homework and installed it so that you wouldn't fall into that problem. This is something that is new to me. Perhaps I submit this bug, since I'm a tester anyhow.

but I noticed the mistake and figured changing it was pointless in the mood that I was in, so I didn't bother. That's the whole point. in this guy's case, no offense, but would you please...shut.. the.. hell.. up! The reason why most people like fast boot times, is because a large portion of Windows 2000 users use this as their servers. I work for a web hosting company and they use Windows 2000 Server. Now, what if they have to reboot the servers? when the servers are not fully booted, there is no web host. They need them to boot as fast as possible. And there are a lot of people out there that'll agree with me on that. Second, a boot time being fast is always good, especially when you have those mishaps and errors. You want to be able to get out of there, reboot and get the system up again as fast as possible, especially when it's important. Why do you think Whistler has like a 10 second boot time on my system? If boot time wasn't a concern in the computer world, the need to cut the time would not have taken place. [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 22 January 2001).]

my cousin has Pentium 2 at 350 Mhz and 128 MB of RAM and it runs very good, but 350 ain't much anyways. Other than that, everything else is ok

it's not backwards, just replace everyone sign of v3 with v4

let's try this.. download latest beta v3 drivers then extract to a directory and DO NOT RUN SETUP.EXE then copy all .dll files in there except 3dfxvs.dll into your windows/system32 directory then load up regedit and in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windowsnt/currentversion/opengldrivers add a new key called 3dfx and in there make a string call DLL and put the text "3dfxogl.dll" without quotations, then a DWORD with DriverVersion as 1 , a DWORD with Flags

incase you didn't know.. Current OS ----> Windows 2000 Professional INFERNO2000 goes and buys Whistler Professional. Pop in CD, click upgrade, do key business. installed, activate windows. Done. Next computer.....

DosFreak is right, this stuff can be bypass/cracked very easily.

Ok, I have a choice, both of these cards are free to me.. RivaTNT 16 MB PCI or Voodoo 3 3000 16 MB AGP now, Voodoo 3 has good performance, but the fact that it has a max texture limit of 256x256, whereas the RivaTNT has 2048x2048!!!! I mean, that's a big gap between the two numbers... which should I go for? Voodoo 3 or RivaTNT. The reason why I've reasked this is because of the recent 3Dfx/Nvidia issue. Thanks

uhhhh, not to be mean here, but, do you know how to run a computer? just out of curiousity.. I mean, I have had Windows Me/Windows Whistler dual boot, but i've had Windows Me running since July 2000 without having to reinstall it once

and...it may interest you to know that Whistler 2410 has a NEWER build of DX8 than that of the final.
