give it time I guess make sure that the color is set to 16-bit and not higher. Because I noticed a bit of problems in games with 32-bit color [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 18 October 2000).]

I have never experienced that problem, try putting on Windows 2000 Video card drivers onto it

ahhh christ THC, you were not suppose to say anything...... but when the time comes to listen to people lie about having screenshots, oh btw, real screenshots, not fake. Then you have to do what you have to do Bill.. [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 17 October 2000).]

yeah, I recently installed it, beautiful too. New startup screen, some bugs fixed, boots about 5 seconds faster than 2257 did on my machine. Oh yes and I better add this for those that think stupid about Whistler. I found that a few games that never ran on Windows 2000 now run in Whistler and faster too. NHL 2001 ran 100 % now, no crashing at all. Both SuperBike games (2000 and 2001) ran 100 %. And a couple of olden games ran before that never ran on 2000 before either. I'm not saying they will work on everyone's system as of now, but they do work on my machine and never worked on windows 2000 before.

haha, whatever man...whatever... [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 15 October 2000).]

well, NHL 2001 runs on Windows 2000, because I went to http://www.win2kgames.com and put in NHL 2001 and most of the users say that it runs, so it defintely ain't MS or the software makers. So that only leaves one thing....the computer and it's compatibility with win2k.
-
well I don't know what to tell you, I mean the game runs fine in win2k/whistler/9x all on my machine, don't ask how or why, it just does but maybe make sure that you have the latest video card drivers and BIOS, etc. Make sure all patches are downloaded. And even if you have to or want to, install the latest DX8 beta.

lol, you make me laugh.. when I say 9x in it, I mean that you can actually run all of your games, like win9x, you can step into a multimedia world, like win9x. It'll have some features that were taken from winME. Etc. Also, they couldn't have made it back in 1996, because they didn't have the engine or kernel to do it in, XML was that around in 1996? DHTML, was that around in 1996? I can't remember, but I don't believe so, therefore they couldn't have done it. Also, they rely a bit on C#, a language designed around .NET services. End of story. <edit> I also must add the fact that you sound like you work for MS by saying "microsoft wouldn't do this" or "microsoft wouldn't do that"...lol, like you would know.... and yes, they are doing some of that stuff, so don't just assume.... and like I said before, it really sounds like your *****ing about it more than you are asking a question or questions </edit> [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 13 October 2000).]

ok, i'll just forward that to my personnel director what can we do about it? EA Sports is like that too, they are lazy when it comes to making **** compatible, that's why I have given up on complaining about them, and just waiting for Whistler, because I have already started to see some games run in Whistler on my machine that never ran on Windows 2000 before. But anyways, Creative Labs and EA Sports are both major companies that always do that, it pisses me off too [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 12 October 2000).]

Somebloke on EFNet (irc.fasti.net is a good server to connect it to). He can't save his passwords in Outlook Express, so he blames Microsoft, HAHAHAHAHA. Complete idiot probably doesn't check up Save Password and when I say that it's a good chance that it's the server not the software, his response is "No chance"... oh, of course not, it's always MS's problem, the user is never at fault according to this guy. Goto EFNet and laugh at Somebloke for being a complete idiot. See ya later.. ------------------ Whistler is or will be better than Windows 2000, if you don't think so, get a reality check and hope it doesn't bounce.

but the thing is that 634 drivers are out now

It's come to my attention that I ain't wanted here anymore, my obvious attempts at trying to make a huge, long going post failed, we get to 18 pages, then i'm told by people to get out of this forum. I also try to help my best at answering questions for things that I know about and try to have fun here. It didn't work, obviously, I better just go. Goodbye

alright, let me try to ask something without being flamed... this guy I know wants to dual boot WinME and Win2000, but everytime he tries to install Win2000 as a clean install, it says "Setup cannot determine your version of Windows. Setup will not continue" or something like that. Yet, I can install it myself just fine, what's wrong with his copy? Is there a way around this... Thanks

alright DosFreak, it's a deal.

I am staying, i'm sick of hipocritical users. I made my point across, and it's all fact, never fiction.
-
I don't ever recall flaming you at all there buddy. Saying one thing to you ain't flaming either, 1 post of me telling you off ain't flaming. You try to take 8 or 9 pages of flaming. Get into my shoes before you decide to talk about "whenever they give you a taste of your own medicine". I'm here to stay, but i'm further ignoring all attempts to start another ****ing war. And furthermore, you ****ing son of a ***** hipocritical mother ****er. How many people disagreed with my "I don't mean to piss you off" post I made back in March...hmm, 150 or so users, and they flamed me for it. So what doesn't give me the right to flame a couple of lines when I don't disagree with you. I think you need to realize who's medicine i'm using, mine? nope, your's? I think so. You dropped the bomb and were not affected, but the long term effects are now coming back to haunt you, so don't blame me for it. [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 09 October 2000).]

son of a *****.. *BUMP* there we go

yeah well it's like "oh jdulmage posted a message, do I agree with that? yes I do, i'll flame him now. Or it's do I agree with that, no I don't, i'll flame him now" and i'm sick of it. I only post when I know the answer or can help, otherwise I don't post when questions are asked. But when I do post, i'm put down for it. Especially my ****ing signature. ------------------ Whistler is or will be better than Windows 2000, if you don't think so, get a reality check and hope it doesn't bounce.
