alright, to enable that start page, it's simply just an Active Desktop feature, but to get it going, find the directory "Startpage" under <drive>\Windows\Web\Startpage\ then go through the needed steps to enable it on the desktop with active desktop. YES!! Finally!! Your stupid enough to make a mistake that I made back in March, now i'm flaming you.. Windows 98 is the biggest piece of crap in the world, It crashes way too much, I mean, when you first install 98 First Edition, there were like 30 MB of patches to download, not to mention that I would download latest WMP, DirectX and IE which is another 30 MB. Etc, etc. Your games may run faster in Windows 98, but let me put money on that, because I bet that if I came over to your place, installed Windows 2000 fresh, I could get those games to work faster, you just have to know how to configure it to those specific needs. Well, all I did was install the game then put the patch on and reinstall the game again. I would explain to you why they did this, but all that i'll tell you is that, they have the removal of those icons to test to see if they work right in the Start Panel. If you would like to enable them on the desktop, you have to switch to classic start menu for now. Next, I have been able to install the latest Det 3 drivers from Nvidia just fine onto Whistler. Yo.. beta DirectDraw has expired is basically telling you "Whistler 2250 has expired".. what kind of sound card should I get? I mean, I have a SoundBlaster 128 and i'm pissed to see that Creative doesn't know how to release drivers for it.. I bet you nobody will figure this out, but here it goes. I have installed Windows Media Player 7 build 1956 on my system, and when I have the playlists showing, the visualization freezes up when I minimize it and maximize it again, it freezes for about 10 seconds, then everything appears again, it's a major pain in the ass to work with. I have tried reinstalling everything, from WMP7 to as far as reinstalling the operating system, but nothing seems to fix it. Earlier builds (ie. the build that comes with Windows Me) seems to work just fine. Any ideas?? If you don't have an idea, give me a good music player that plays mp3, midi and wav good. WinAmp?? don't even mention Winamp, because it plays all my songs in 2 channel, when WMP7 plays them all in 4 channel. I have tried many different versions of my SB 128 PCI drivers for my sound card, and none of them seem to show the Bass and Treble in the Volume Settings. Anyway that i can get these to be enabled, because I don't have bass and treble volumes right on my subwoofer/speaker set, and there is like next to no bass coming out of the subwoofer because of these missing features.
