yes..keep this post going...10 pages would be nice... $%#$^%@#$^@#$%$#@@#^#% there

but it's fastest overall..and looks nicer. and it's got the combined of 9x and NT. And when it's done, it'll be broadband and interactive more so than any other OS I know of. So those are good things jeez..I better shut up before this goes to 9 pages...

finally, someone agrees that Whistler will be a great OS...I'm glad that you all think this. Just between you and me, whistler Beta 1 will be out in September
-
I may as well point this out before everyone else does.. this is the prime example of the "People don't like change" rule. They can't accept that the OS GUI is changing so they say it sucks and looks like stuff that it isn't in hopes that the OS will reverse itself...if you can't accept change...you don't need to be living..

my response to you is "if you don't like it, don't install it". You can sit back in the old times when everyone else is installing it... For the past 14 years...MS's operating system had no class, no style and no eye candy. Finally they bring something out that is better than the best and if you don't like it, too bad. Don't ***** to us about it, cause we can't fix it.

it looks like **** eh? 1) Your a DosFreak 2) You can customize 3) IT'S A BETA!! pre-beta at that.. things change, skins are being added...you can switch to whatever you want.. i'm leaving the world of old windows as soon as this becomes Beta 1. Forget 2000, Forget 9x...i'm going straight to Whistler...because it's a hell of a lot better, more customizable, and faster

Anyone have Win me installed for a long time (i.e. for over

I say this without a problem in my mind.. the user needs to be replaced -
who the hell are you to call him names?? he just helped hundreds of people that wanted to know what Whistler looked like...
-
if you want to know...about 90 % of the users that install Whistler right now, get that error because they have started the drivers and crap from stratch...expect the release in September to bring that 90 % down to at least 60 % [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 15 August 2000).]

When i'm in the installation of Windows NT 4.0 Server, after awhile, the program says "Setup cannot determine a hard disk in which to setup windows nt. in the MS-DOS part of the setup, you were supposed to select a hard disk to install to" or something like that, well, i doesn't even ask you where you want to install. How exactly do i go around this problem?

Just wanted to know how many ppl installed Windows 2000 by upgrading from a 9x kernel? and if you did..how did it go? was it a success? thanks
-
yes 4 and 20, that is what I mean..as for skins...yes, like Linux...not much left to say. goto http://www.flukex.com I work for that company [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 04 August 2000).]

open discussion should be allowed...under one condition...NEVER SAY "it's just Windows NT 5.1)...it's Windows.NET 1.0 or CodeName: Whistler...it's a hell of a lot better than 2000 already...it'll always be better than 2000 and i'm installing it and leaving the old NT/9x **** and getting into what I call "NT-X" which is Whistler. Whistler is designed on NT with 9x support, so you have the stability of NT with gaming support of 9x. Most people say "that'll make it unstable".. not true..in fact..they have things so planned out this time around and it can't lose. MS has finally decided to add the eye candy that is so needed in their OS...Whistler is just one of the many .NET Services that MS is bringing out. I already have msn.NET 1.0 (MSN Messenger Version 6) installed which is at http://preview.msn.com I have already seen screenshots of Office.NET 1.0 (Office 2001) which is looking good and now Windows.NET 1.0 (whistler) is even better. I myself are going to all the .NET services when all of them are released...Whistler finally has everything that people want...NT with 9x support that is stable...eye candy and choices beyond believe and skinnable OS is added into it. By the end, it'll have directX 8.0, IE 5.6 (I think i'll be changed to 6.0 or removed completely due to msn.NET's Internet Explorer). So i'll finalize by saying, MS's .NET plan is perfect..i'm actually selling out to them now cause i love Whistler's look and the whole .NET look is great.. get Whistler and msn.NET and install them both and love them... Thank you for this time AMD K7 at 550 Mhz 256 MB RAM 16 MB RivaTNT 19" monitor [This message has been edited by jdulmage (edited 03 August 2000).]

I have installed D2 on windows 2000 with nvidia drivers and no problems with it at all
-
lol...all of you talking about WinME when it's not even released to public yet...can I get your address and **** so I can report you
-
screw going back to win2k or staying with winme..I have 224 MB of RAM using cacheman at http://www.outertech.com and it runs WinME like a charm...but if you really want to go to Win2k..hell going Windows Whistler pre-beta..it's a hell of alot better even though it's a pre-beta...it runs better than 2000 and is way much better
-
I installed SP1 with no firewall problems reported on both BID and zonealarm
-
Is this worse than something I would ever do....yep, worse...

Anyways, when I start my computer up it is suppose to have an external cache of 512k, instead it says External Cache: 512K, Disabled. How do I enable it? I looked all over in the BIOS. Thanks...even though i've been an ass..except the 9 page post, that is suppose to keep going

sorry for missing out alot of the info...my motherboard is a GigaByte Athlon 71-XE Motherboard. Yes I upgraded the bios. I use Windows 2k..but I figured that the cache should be enabled for performance reasons -
for those complaining, "where's SP1??" especially that 9:35 PM in Redmond post, you can stop complaining, cause it wasn't even planned to be out on Monday, MS internal (aka. my MS friend) tells me that SP1 wasn't even 100 % planned for Monday or Tuesday, don't expect it out until mid to late this week, probably Thursday or Friday...just like it was scheduled. That is a word from my friend who works at MS.

why am I here?? read the posts above...entertainment for those that don't want to talk NT all day

haha, it's working...god man...you guys think that i'm serious about all of this..jeez, goto irc.mpl.net on IRC and goto #ms-beta I am there all of the time, I know what i'm talking about when it comes to Whistler...christ, I know that Whistler isn't going to be BlackComb. In fact http://betaxtreme.virtualave.net/ backs all of that up. man, you try hard to believe everything that I say real or fake..... and they call me the moron....
