Quote: very funny. Win98 should only be installed if your program = t3h gh3y. you know, like most EA games ;( that's the -only- reason I've installed 98 on someone's computer in the past year or 2.....because their daughter's EA game sucked ass, and XP couldn't run it(even with compatibility mode) That was good, haha, t3h gh3y, I would never have thought of that. It certainly was not lacking T3H FUNN3Y!

For those that want to use headphones and maintain your EAX

been there, done that -
if 100 people were applying (including you in that number) and 99 of them had MCSE and you were the only one that didn't, then I could see you being at a disadvantage. However, i don't think that would be the case and you shouldn't be handicapped at all by that. I don't know why they expect MCSE for something as simple as hardware and software support. I don't even (or plan to) have a single year of university/college experience and I run a business based on computer sales and support without a hitch, no MCSE, no big ass degrees, nothing. Frankly, wasting your time for a piece of paper that tells you how great and wonderful you supposedly are isn't worth it. Go for it.

Anyone.....windows update doesn't work.....why???
jdulmage replied to DARTH maul's topic in Software
It's a dead link now -
One of my friends installed XP Pro on his machine and when he goes to Windows Update, it just stays at 0%, sometimes goes to 25%, but then freezes up and doesn't continue. Anyone know what is wrong? I recommended a fix for him, but it didn't work

Quote: Quote: lol, pagefile should always be about 150 MB more than what your Commit Charge is when you run all of your every day apps at the same time. My Commit Charge is about 175, so I have mine at 325. You analyze that stuff using performance monitor? That's cool! I have to ask: How long did you do that for to determine what to set it at, I am just curious. Over how long of a period...? Do you vary your use patterns at certain periods, or do you use generally the same apps all year long etc.?? (The only reason I don't follow that & do it, is it takes time & I tend to run alot of different kind of apps & tools here, which vary as time goes on. Example being I do more coding in the winter & gaming (because of summer heat & less to do outside for myself in winter) & more internetting too then. In the summer, I tend to do more testing of diff. softwares & such to see if any good stuff came out & to compare it to the tools I use now... my use patterns vary a bit.) APK I did a year before determining the best allocation for VM. Any time I install Windows, no matter what flavor, i set my VM to the same.

NWN is, by far. Dungeon Siege is a "quick fix" and one of those "install, beat, uninstall" games. It has very low amounts of enjoyment time. Hell, in Hard mode, I defeated the end boss in 5 minutes, it was pathetic. I have never played the game since, but with NWN, I continue to play it.

new processor = new installation at least, I would be.. wipe XP out and install it again.

Everyone goes off topic all the time, it's stupid. There is a fix for that actually. Here is the link: (I will only keep it up for the next 24 hours) http://www.reginabridge.com/win.update.fix.zip Hope this helps. -

My history of Operating Systems: Windows 95: One time, then I upgraded to 98 Windows 98/98SE: Every month usually Windows Me: Every couple of months, if I was careful Windows 2000: Never, because I only used it for a little while, then went back to Me because XP was on it's way to a build that was worth keeping as a primary OS Windows XP: Usually every 6 to 8 months, but mainly because of new hardware or of experiments that I've tried that have failed, etc. It has yet to be an OS issue. Linux: Installed on a Monday, removed on a Tuesday BeOS: Had no need to keep it installed as a second OS.

This reminds me of when me and my "friends" created that XP/2000 Tweaker and got heat for it. Better watch when you post your own programs on here. Not that I care, it was the past....but good stuff man...someday, I'll get back in to doing something like that, on my own this time.

Quote: as said......... those poeple who are obbessed with scores, well, no offence, but perhaps u need to get out more often, cause a month later, your scores won't mean anything, yeah, it may seem kew to have soemthing that just came out. but still. I got my G4 4600 cause i needed a new card, over the crap 32mb TNT2 card that came with this vaio, was not doing what i wanted. as said, if your omputer can do what u want it to, great, don't upgrade, but if your system is not doing what u want, upgrade, simple. u don't see people running out, well, maybe u do, but buying the newest years model of a car every year. and if u can afford it, go for it, just personally i can think of better things to spend my money one as opposed to buying something that will be out of date by next month, and just beaten by something new. Great of you to say, as I see 3 beefed up systems sitting in your signature Jesus, I still got a 650 Mhz machine, granted it has 512 of RAM, but man, this does me fine...for now. I play to buy good **** soon, cuz some of it is outdated, and I want a new case

OSMAN, or should I say NTGAMEMAN...Windows.NET is a Server OS, why would you want to run games on it? Host it? Yes, run them yourself? Why bother? It's all the same stuff
