Strange Behavior with Mouse and Keyboard

Notice how he puts $ instead of S in all of the mentions of MS, even thuogh he is obviously using a Microsoft OS and a Keyboard from them as well. Go figure

  6. Ok, I figured I would make this post to commend the people who had to suffer through the pain of a user who knows little to jack $hit about their computer. Top 10 Idiot Customers: 10. Are the programs stored in the RAM or the ROM? 9. I didn't know ***** was illegal. 8. Windows Millenium was the best OS Microsoft ever came out with. 7. Wasn't MS coming out with their own Linux flavor? 6. Does that light by your monitor switch mean you are online? 5. Dial-Up to Cable hasn't made much of a speed difference. 4. My hard drive still has well over 15 Gigahertz of space left. 3. I could just put Diablo 2 on to a couple of floppy disks right? 2. My monitor is messed up, could someone have hacked in to the screen? and Number 1: I don't need an operating system, they are pointless Top 5 Idiot Company Employees: 5. "This modem requires Windows 95 or better, Pentium 100 or better. But I don't know anything" - Referring to an ISA modem, the requirements were for the software that I didn't need. 4. "The Latest IE is 5.01, and you can download it anywhere" - Referring to the latest IE when asked on a TV show back in late 2001. 3. "We don't have AMD systems in our store, we only provide the best" - And Intel is the answer? I obviously left the store immediately. 2. "We don't support NT operating systems" - Gee, thanks for nothing and bye bye now. Trying to get help with a modem problem that doesn't need an OS response anyways. And Number 1: "2.0 Ghz/512 RAM/100GB 5400 RPM Drive. Comes with no operating system, no monitor and the motehrboards can't be expanded for only $3,999". - Gee, my company sells a system that is loads better for $1,500 cheaper. There you have it. Feel free to submit your experiences.

    Stupidest Customer/Person You Know (Computers)

Quote: Ok, here's another 1 for you, by a guy I was arguing about XP with: "I *know* you take XP to bed with you each night, but cant you just accept that its really no better than 98SE stability wise, once you get either set up right?" Does this guy know something I don't? ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Problems in Win XP

Quote: Half-Life works perfectly fine under both 2k and XP, I speak from experience at least at patch levels lower than 1.1.0.9. 1.1.0.9 ****s things up as does 1.1.1.0 it seems (although my XP install is pretty FucT in itself so that may be contributing to the problem) You're not the only one, I have deleted oem files and a pile of **** and just lovely ****ed over my PC. It was my choice, I was goofing around. I'll wait for XPSP1 and then format.

An Interesting Question to debate on...

Quote: It seems that whenever a new graphics card, sound system or whatever comes out I see a lot of posts on forums (not just this one) saying that they simply have to have them becuase it is a tiny bit faster than what they have now be it a the ATI Washing powder or the Nvidia Geforce. I recently got the Geforce 4 Ti 4600, because of upcoming releases such as Doom III and Unreal II which would be better played on such a card rather than the Geforce 2 GTS which inhabited my system, and which was serving me very well, right up to the very end. I really had to spend some money over the last year or so as the Celeron 500 system I had for 2 years was no longer cutting it. That really is my only reason, and what I have now will siut me for a long time yet it seems. My Question is this: Why is everyone so obsessed with having the very latest kit when there is nothing that will take advantage for a long time to come? For one simple reason: To show off I don't have the latest, jesus, I am running a 650 Mhz system here, 512 MB RAM, only 20 GB drive (most have like 40 or better)...granted, my monitor is 19 inches, but it does what I have to do and I would love a bit faster system, but I don't need the latest and greatest. So yeah, I just wanted to say that I'm one of the few that doesn't need to show off.

    The new Apple Commercials

Hey guys, stop fighting...Apple is so cool, you know how it is...with their whole stealing the GUI from Xerox and then trying to patent it and all ;( And they say MS is a monopoly. Jobs is planning to port MacOS to the PC, which is a great alternative...however, there is no alternative in my opinion for a PC.

Live! 5.1 Digital and Winxp home...

i dunno, but I have that problem right now with it not detecting Creative GamePort, but that is because in <drive>:\Windows\inf, I deleted the oem file and that prevents Windows from detecting that device, lol (long story)...that could be the problem there. Other than that, installing the latest drivers from Creative should have done it.
