I used my two voodoo2's in SLI mode with win2k in a dual p3 500mhz machine without any problem. I was using two STB blackmagic cards with the last beta reference drivers released by 3dfx. I would definitely try those drivers in win2k instead of using the canopus drivers, since they are the last drivers to come from 3dfx for the voodoo2 chip. you can get them from voodoofiles.com

I will get those drivers to you ASAP, I have been busy the past 2 days and I have completly forgot, hopefully I will remember tonight after work and get them to you...since they are on my computers at home and I am at work now....

I have a copy of the WIN2k USB VC Camera drivers, that someone gave me on this board awhile back, but I have no clue if they work in XP...
-
Man you brought this thread back from the dead! What specific problems do you have with the Game Theatre? Are you using the newest drivers available on the Hercules website?
-
Does the 3dfx tab show up in the Display Properties? If it is not there, I think the card is not installed right, I usually get that error when I take the card out, and I kept the Voodoo2 drivers program installed under the install/uninstall programs in the Control Panel, I would go there, uninstall all 3dfx related items, then reboot and install the last 3dfx drivers, 1.02's i think.

Try dscaler or otherwise called dTV @ http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/downloads.htm even newer versions of dscaler can be found at: http://www.sourceforge.com and do a search for dtv

I heard that the new ATI cards are supposed to be 30% or so faster than what is out there now. BUT if the Detonator 4 drivers are also true, providing a 30% increase too(www.anandtech.com), than both the new ATI and the gf3 should be about even, until and if ever ATI releases good drivers for the new card...

Basically what I did is I got the drivers and unzipped them, I plugged in the Camera to the USB port, windows asked me what drivers I wanted to use to install the new USB device, i pointed to the drivers, and bam, they installed fine, for about five months they worked fine, then after awhile I did start getting blue screens at shutdown only, but I think it was a problem with the camera itself, and not the drivers..
-
There are not any drivers from Logitech, but there are a set of drivers that I got on this board a few months ago that do work in win2k for the VC usb camera. When I first got them, they worked fine, but for some reason some have not had luck with them, reporting blue screens, but that was only one guy. I did not make these drivers, and I do not support them, but I can send you them in an email if you need them...
-
Yeah they are nice cards....
-
I can email you the drivers I got awhile back, but you'll have to give me an email address Dude, I don't think the original message is on here, but then again I have not searched for it either, I do know it was like six months ago when it was posted, maybe even more

Ok, i was able to test out the keyboard, and all the keys you mentioned could be produced, except the english pound symbol, which is not on the keyboard, but the @ symbol can be made by the regular shift+2 key, the only problem i have found is that there is no printscreen key, and the f13 key which is in the same place you might find the printscreen key, does not have the same effect, but the mute button on the keyboard does in fact mute the master volume of the sound properties, so that is cool, plus the usb ports on the sides work as well in win2k

The quickcam VC USB is not supported in win2k by logitech, glenn, so if you download the newest software from the site, it will not work, cause the drivers won't be detected properly for the VC USB, there was a guy that made his own drivers for the camera in win2k though, i downloaded them and they do work, and i tested the camera with CU-Seeme, but they cause my system to bluescreen on shut-down, also some others say that the drivers cause blue screen on boot-up in win2k, so use them at your own risk, i downloaded them when the guy posted directly from the board, so i do not know if the drivers dude got from the compatibilty page are the same as the ones i have.

I have a new Apple Pro USB keyboard working fine in win2k, just hooked it up to the usb, and win2k did the rest, the Apple buttons work like the Windows key on regular keyboards, though I don't know anything about the key/re-mapping stuff at all, of course you have to enable legacy usb keyboard support in your BIOS if you want to use it at any point outside of win2k, like hitting the F8 key before to get into safe mode, but i do know those characters you listed are on the keyboard and I do think that they work fine, but i can't test since it is not in front of me here at work

I upgraded from 500 to 800 mhz P!!! with a 100mhz front side bus and the upgrade increased the speed dramatically, I did this on an ABit bx6r2 board, which I think will only accept up to a 900mhz FSB chip, and that is all manual CPU tweaking, cause the board does not recognize anything over 700mhz, so I would check out abit's site and get the newest BIOS and see what processor that accepts, if not go to the abit newsgroups and ask around their to others who have your board.

Please respond in readable English...

There seem to be a set of drivers labeled "v2-w2k-nt4hacked.exe " v1.02 at: http://www.reactorcritical.com/ under downloads, and voodoo2 These might work, but try at your own risk.

I have an XP game theatre in my win2k system. Everything seems great so far, there are some problems with the first set of drivers, hopefully that will be fixed soon, it has to do with speaker selection screens with the driver program, they don't always output correctly at the right times.
-
Right now I have that mobo on one of my systems, the abit bx6r2 and I am running a p3 800e mhz processor on it, with the current BIOS, QR, I think, you can set the multiplier up to 9x, so you could put up to a 900mhz slot 1 chip with that mobo, you have to set some things up in the bios, like no error-check or something like that as well, I have had it like this for about 3 months, and no problems at all.

Well that is good to hear about the drivers for the sblive (because i thought about getting the new ones and now i will not), I will not upgrade until I hear that they have better smp support, but until then I can live with the default drivers, since this is only a server computer anyways, and I still have my other system for sweet 3D sound and such with the game theater XP.
-
I just built my smp system, two p3 500's, and i am using a sblive mp3+ with the win2k installed drivers only, and everything seems to be fine so far, what are your problems with it??
-
I mostly play Counter-Strike with it, with EAX turned on, it soundz awesome! I am using an Abit BXR6-2, newest BIOS, and a Pentium III 800mhz processor, not overclocked at all, 128 megs ram, all scsi system, win2k w/SP1 installed, no DX8 though
-
I have win2k and the Game theatre too. When i first installed it on my one processor system, and i went to test the 5.1 surround or 4 surround modes, i would get a memory error, since then I have re-installed win2k, and then used the same drivers that came with it on the CD, and it works perfectly now, no problems!. You must have some problem with the two processors, but I have no clue about that stuff, cause i have never worked on an SMP system, but I am building one next that is for sure, but i will probably put an sblive in it, though people have probs with that too in SMP systems.

Whenever I go to shutdown my system, it eventually gets to a blue screen saying driver_power_state_failure then it lists the memory location and then does a dump, it may be the graphics driver?? i'll try changing that tonight, since i think i got a fine reboot up to that point My system is as follows: win2k w/sp1 (no DX8 yet, but had it before, no help) Abit BX6 r2 with QR bios (ACPI enabled or disabled does not matter) p3 800mhz 144 megs ram adaptec 2940u2w SCSI card (newest bios and w2k driver) Creative GeForce 2gts (6.49 drivers)<problem? IDE Creative CD-RW pioneer SCSI 5xDVD 4.5 U2W SCSI Cheetah drive 9.1 LVD SCSI Cheetah drive hercules game theater XP sound (got this after the problem though) any thoughts?
-
After a re-install of Win2k, I think it was a set of reference 6.49 drivers that I got from Zoiah's page that was causing my shutdown probs, I went with the newest WHQL tested drivers and now, no more shutdown problems.
