I used norton on win2k advanced server and it worked ok. Atleast I think it was the personal firewall or maybe it was some server firewall from norton. I have to check when I get home. But for now I will stay with the built-in one in .NET. Thank You

I can't install IntelliType after isntalling a fresh copy of XP with SP1. Anyone else got this problem? Or even better, know a solution for it? BTW, I got a MS Natural Keyboard Pro

I think its the latest one. I downloaded it from www.microsoft.com/hardware. But I'm using a Natural Keyboard Pro and on the list when I'm supposed to choose wich keyboard I have mine is there but its says "discontinued", but I can still choose it so I guess it should still be supported. Can you give me a link to the latest intellitype download?

It installs, almost, right after the install (copyd the files to the HD) it says "Can't load setup.exe", or something like that.

When I try to shutdown XP I get a blue screen with the error message: "driver_power_state_failure". When I start XP it can't create a pagefile. Anyone who knows it is that cause this?

I have installed IIS 5.1 and set it up to use d:\webserver as webserver directory. I made a testpage.html and it worked but when I changed the extension to .asp I got an 500 internal server error. Whats up with that? I thought IIS 5.1 would be able to run asp pages?

I think it sounds strange to. I belive that the restriction is in IIS.

Why would I be limited to ten when I'm using apache as web server instead of IIS? The limitation is in IIS isn't it?

The problem with IIS in WinXP Pro is that it only supports for maximum 10 users at the same time. And I had a php script that used sessions and somehow that script goot looped and the server thought that I had 10 users connected to the server so it shut down. I'm going for apache.

I got it working now but after the server have been running for a while i craches and I get the error that there are to many users on the server. The server isn't even connected to internet. What could cause this? A friend of mine is running the same setup and have the same problem.

I found this error in the event viewer "Could not start the MS DTC Transaction Manager." Maybe it has something to do with it? I havn't downloaded any patches since I'm only on dial-up, maybe I should do that?

Can I install the remote desktop function in win2k? I want to be able to remotely controll a win2k machine. If not, are there any other greats progs that can do the same thing?

I have a ftp server with a static IP adress. I would like to have an adress for it instead of giving out my ip adress to my users. I dont care if it ftp://myname.somename.com. I dont want to use the dynamic dns services that are aroung cause the I need to run a client software on my server and I have some bad experiences of them. Anyone know of ny service like this? It must be free

So what you mean is that if I had win2k server on the remote machine, I would be able to log in using terminal services and a another user that is physicly sitting by the computer can work with it at the same time? That would be great for me I have a copy of win2k server, can I upgrade the existing version of win2k pro or do I need to make a fresh install?

Gillus: I think you have missunderstand me. The computer I want to connect to is a win2k pro computer and I'm running winxp. The remote computer is the one that is running win2k pro not my computer.

I'm building a server for my home network and decided to go with win2k server. The server is going to serve as a member server and internet gateway. To my questions: I probably going to need to run the server as a domain controller right? All I want from the server is that the server should handle all the user accounts. Thats what active directory is right? Or am a wrong? Anything else I need? I'm gonna install the DNS service that comes with win2k server is that the same as DDNS or where can I find the DDNS service? Anything else I need to know? Thanks

I have now made up my mind. I want to try out win2k server again. It will run as a Internet sharing router, web/ftp and file server. The ftp server have to be php enabled. Should I use DNS,DHCP, WINS or what?What is fastest? I want some kind of network were a user can login on any machine in the network. The users should have different kind of rights. How? Progs? How should I do to remotely control the server. PCAnywhere? What web/ftp server should I use? Apache? Since I want php?
