ok...I am working on setting up a secure web site, but my web server is running on my XP machine. I have certificate server installed on in 2K server, and I was wondering what I had to do to get a certificate to work. I followed the steps from microsoft that tells me how to do it on IIS 5. The steps were the same for the XP machine, but is there and incompatiblitly issus with IIS 5.1 and certificates. It keeps telling me that the certificate I try to install does not match the pending request. Does anyone know of a way to get this to work? I do not have an internal DNS running, but my web server does have a www address associated with it....could this be causing the problem?

Ok, I keep getting a SCSI card error everytime I try to access anything on my SCSI CD-Rom, SCSI CD-RW, or SCSI HD. I get this error every minute or so on my system and it keeps resetting my SCSI bus. The device, \Device\Scsi\aic78xx1, did not respond within the timeout period. I checked Microsoft's web site and they said the problem was in 2000 and has been fixed. Well, it appears that the problem is still here. I cannot burn CDs because of this, and all of my programs hang while the SCSI bus is reset. There is currently nothing on my system other than XP and Nero. I have done a format and reinstall about 5 times now trying to fix this problem and nothing seems to help. Have any of you ever seen this error and know how to fix it? BTW, My SCSI card is an Adaptec 2940UW and yes I have tried different SCSI cards and the error still exists

I have the latest drives and I have an Intel chipset on the motherboard

But it doesn't always happen when I am burning a CD... The data transfer speeds are correct. Even when the system is idle it still happens. I have termination turned on on the card as well.

I just reinstalled Roxio EZ cd creator 5 countless times and i have replcaed my SCSI cables as well. Every time I try to burn a CD I get a stupid ASPI error. Is there anyone that has experienced the same problem? If so is there a way to get around it so that I may burn CDs again. I really do not wanna format my system to get it to work

i have reinstalled it, I do not use direct CD, and I have the newest update on it as well

E80041927: TrackWriter error - ASPI failure - [T7121] E80041934: TrackWriter error - Flush failed - [T7127] E80041925: TrackWriter error - Command retry failed - [T7118] Also 15 minutes or so Windows XP will reinitialize all my SCSI devices and a lot of times this happens when I burn a CD. The hangs for a second but does not lock up

I upgraded from Win2K to XP and on the machine that I upgraded C$ workds fine. I set XP on my roommates machine and C$ does not work. He can connect to mine and it prompts him to enter a username and a password. When I try to connect to his, it wants me to log on as guest. I changed the settings in the local security policy, but it still will not let me on...it keeps asking me to log on as guest. Does anyone know all the settings for which I should change? I referred to the other post in the forum regarding C$ and SAMBA shares and I got the local security policy from there. I think I am missing something somewhere, but I am not sure.

When I was logging on my system when it was running win 2K i had to press Ctrl+Alt+Del to logon. Now in XP i don't have to. Is there any way that I can get the logon and task manager to look like the ones from 2K or NT? I don't really like the new version and prefer to have my users enter their username instead of clicking on it
