I've burnt some tens of CDs on 2kPro, and they're all working fine on my 98 at home (which I should upgrade to 2k sooner or later btw... ) FatFish-> that would be great! Regards, Graz

I'm having a big trouble with the Site Server 3 Analysis DB: it has eaten up all the disk space available, so I'm now planning to move it but...well, I don't know HOW... I'm trying to create a new db on another drive, but that's not the best solution (and, to be true, it's far away from it) because it looks like I've to spend some days re-importing logs... It should exists some kind of tool, but pitifully I'm quite a newbie, and don't even have much time to spend on manuals at the present... Well, if anyone got some ideas, they'll be very welcome Thanks in advance, Graz

Hi all again...recently I'm plagued with a trouble on an NT4sp6 machine that I've to mantain (albeit for not much time...): the box runs IIS 4 to host a site, but every hour or so the service stops...uhm, better (or worse) yet: the console shows the service running, but I can't reach it by the net...I then manually stop it, and when I click on restart a dialog opens saying "The requested control is not available for the selected service"...I then re-click "run", and all goes smoothly...until next "crash" at least... Ideas? Thank in advance, Graz

All corrected, I was just a little behind in term of updates...a couple of them, and all is now running smoothly... Thanks a lot, Graz

Hi to all. I'm trying to send e-mails by means of CDONTS.NewMail on an ASP page, using Win2k SMTP service... I won't bother you with the very simple code I've written to test my pages (I need the e-mail for a larger scope project), but the error code I find in the .BDR in the badmail directory is: "Error is processing file in pickup directory Error code is 0xC00402CE" I really don't know which of the settings in the SMTP service I have to tweak, so I ask to you... Thanks in advance, Graz

First of all, excuse me for haven't anwered yet, but I got a big cut on the majority of the net that only today resolved... So, thank you for your answer, clutch...the code is basically the same I used, so the problem is clearly my SMTP service...I've used telnet on the port 25, and it says it's not responding, so I'm pretty sure of that Now, I'm using IIS 5, and with it the Virtual SMTP...am I wrong? I suspect so, and that's why I ask your knowledge... Thanks in advance, Graz

Win2k, definitely...I think it's the best MS-OS around for now, though I still don't know XP well...

Good morning sirs, I'm in desperate need of these drivers, 'cause I can't find installation disks here at office (same inherited box from another forum :-) ). Do any of you know where to find them for NT? Or do any of you actually own a copy and can email me the diskette datas? Thanks in advance, Graz

Hello! I was wondering if I could do a nice thing: install a modem on a server here in my office, call by phone wherever I am that server, hang up, and have the machine call me back, establishing in this way a reliable and quite useful (I'd be plugged in my working net) connection. If I remember correctly, which I'm not sure of, there's a way, but... Any ideas/infos? Graz

Ok, sorry for the stupid question :-) I found it, thanks! Graz

I'm sorry but...what do you mean by RAS? :-) Thank you, Graz

I know I could pass for a newbie, which currently I am, but I'm having a little problem: I was wondering if I could install a copy of NT Server on a machine which already has 2K Professional. I'd need that for work and that would be great! (I scream thinking of all the configs to redo)... And speaking of that, will I have to reconfig the machine anyway? Thanks in advance, Graz

I solved my problems now. Thank to you all people! :-) Graz

Ok, new plan now: I'll completely remove 2k, so one more newbie question: is ok if I BIOS-format the disk, ripartition it and then install NT? Or is it possible to just apply NT over the old partition? And moreover, where can I find the tools to do that? I've received the machine as a "legacy", and still can't find all the diskettes my precursor used. Should I create a "system disk" with another NT Server to boot the machine? Thanks in advance, Graz

Thank you all in advance. Probably my boss has decided to do something different, I still don't know, so maybe I'll show up again later :-) Regards, Graz

So, I should create a new partition, where I'll install NT, boot from there, apply the SPs, and then it should be all ok, right? Graz
