    IE Default Web Browser

For some reason, every time after I restart and then run Internet Explorer, it tells me that it is not the default web browser and asks if I want to set it as the default (which I do). This gets really annoying after awhile. The weird part is, I don't have any other web browsers installed which could be setting themselves as the default browser. Does anyone know of a way to discover what program is causing this trouble? Thanks, Zed

Removing Whistler safely from Dual Boot configuration

yeah, I was thinking of just editing the boot.ini file, but I wanted to be certain that boot.ini is the only file that will need modification. None of the other non-text files like ntldr will have any problem with me doing this?
  4. Greetings, I have two hard drives, each hard drive is seperated into 2 partitions, which makes 4 partitions total. For now I'll just number them 1-4. Partition 1 is the boot partition, it doesn't have any system files on it, only the boot.ini files along with all the other files necessary for booting the computer. Partition 2 has Whistler on it, and partition 3 has Win2K on it. Partition 4 is empty and is only for file storage. What I want to accomplish is to safely remove Whistler off of partition 2 in a way that will keep the boot information clean. I'm afraid if I just format the partition that Whislter resides on, Whistler will still show up as a bootup option when I start up the computer. I know I could just go into the boot.ini file and remove the Whistler line, but I'm afraid of other unseen changes residing in ntldr or some other place I don't know of. If anyone has any advice, or things I should know before proceeding, I'd be very grateful to hear them. [ December 29, 2000: Message edited by: ZedAgent ]
