Hmm I still check two Hotmail accounts thru Outlook Express still... I have 6 gmail invites currently.

System shutsdown abruplty when i click on any application
theelviscerator replied to rocketboy's topic in Legacy OS
what errors are you getting in your system logs? -
Sports fans can be idiots, they riot when they win, they riot when they lose. Sounds to me like they just like to RIOT. Most likely the cop was aiming somewhere else and perhaps she came into his line of fire just as he pulled the trigger. it happens. So you agree they should stop selling alcohol near the games?

What part isnt right? Her death is on the heads of the rioting drunking idiots who caused the police to open fire.

Quote: Quote: You should see a fair increase in speed. I'm in the same boat with an original GF3 card, but I'm gonna wait for the GF FX to be released. The GF4 prices should then take quite a tumble, and I'll get a 4600 then I also agree! I did the SAME jump as you guys did (or intend to do) and saw a decent pickup in many games... not HUGE, but it IS there! I also had an ORIGINAL GeForce III (which my nephew now has) & got a GeForce4 Ti4600... cost me an arm & a leg both times (as I got them as soon as they came out nearly), & yes... I felt it was worth it both times. * I will hold off though on the next generation GeForceFX however... until Doom III comes out & I snag a new mobo & CPUs + RAM (going dual Xeon next round, probably early 2004 most likely departing from this Dual Pentium III setup I have now). Here's the mod I did to my GeForce4 Ti4600 to make it pull off timings in core/memory of 330/740 mhz: APK What a retard....My ti4400 Leadteak runs 310/670 with stock HSF. Ti4400 .....

I have run into this problem when I had to reformat and reinstall a system over spyware. System was running at 100% cpu on win2k pro. Kazaa was main culprit that let in who knows what else. I said fine do what you want but when computer goes down again, its YOUR PROBLEM. You want to dl crap for a short period of time or use your system. Its still running...............So maybe just maybe the idea of NO COMPUTER at all scared him a bit.

P133MHz & 128MB memory enough for a home router?
theelviscerator replied to Ron_Jeremy's topic in Slack Space
Quote: I thought about using this machine as a home router. There will be 3 pc's behind it; 2 surf the web quite frequently, & 1 will be a 24/7 Counter-Strike server. I thought about installing NT4 on it, but am tempted to use a Linux program found here that runs off the floppy drive & doesn't even need a hard disk. Will using this machine slow down or hinder my other pc's "performance" (i.e., up/download speeds) on the 'Net? Shall I use a beefier machine instead? Should work fine main thing I would recommend is the use of high end NIC's...If you ran a OS that let you check Cpu usage, such as win2k pro you would know for sure ..I would bet it would be fairly small. The Floppysolution sounds efficient. -
Anyone having problems accessing "www.google.com"
theelviscerator replied to tuneS's topic in Slack Space
Quote: Wow I'm amazed a hight traffic website like google doesn't have DOS attack protection like Microsoft: C:\>ping www.microsoft.com Pinging www.microsoft.akadns.net [207.46.230.220] with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Ping statistics for 207.46.230.220: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms , but then again neither does Yahoo.com so maybe Microsoft is just paranoid. I'm sure that protection comes a behavioral cost. For example they have lost the simplest way on earth to test response times, but they can afford really cool tools like Segue SilkPerformer. -Christian Maybe Microsoft is just paranoid they have been major hacker target for years, no big secret there. -
you need to troubleshoot tcp/ip...check ips..are they static? if using ics should be set to obtain automatically....release and renew ips from each workstation. can you ping the network card on each machine?....

Normally you set a time limit that expires in those cases..other than that log in with another account that has admin rights then go in and reset the password in MMC or re enable the account.

Good for you Kazaa is the lamest excuse for spy ware and general internet traffic waste of bandwidth ever. Hope Kazaa fries your system like it did one of my customers. enjoy the trickler. ;(
