Have you guys instead of bashing nero try to get the FREE updates from their web site that usually include MORE support for more burners? i have a NEC anbd a pioneer dvd burner and both work JUST fine with nero. Or does the "free" copy u got with your burner not allow u to get upgrades? Trust me, the price of your burner would be the same whether they threw in nero or not. I happen to love near over any other burning program due to what it can do that others ca not do so easily.

Hey all i havaa 2003 server print server. Last night i set up all system to connect to the printer - upon doing so, i was prompted for a user /pass to log onto the print server (via the network) - i put in the user / pass i use to log into the print server and it works, i also asked the computer to "remeber the login" - but it did not. problem is, the pwoer went out last night and it seems all computers now can not print (the people using the systems dont know to log in with the info) - because the computers will not log into the print sevrer automaitcally even though i asked them to save the user / pass. Anyways - i added "anon" access to the shared printer, but people are still asked for the user /pass to connect to the printer. How can i disable this so simply one can add a printer and it conects and they can use it, done deal - so they dont have to keep putting in a user / pass. or anything like that............ -

Well, you have the obvious the Speed @ which the memory runs @ Since u have your cpus @: 66FSB 100FSB 166FSB (AMD) 133FSB Quad Pumped 100FSB - 400 P4 a Quad Pumped 133FSB - 533 P4 b Quad Pumped 200FSB - 800 P4 c Ram: PC66 PC100 PC133 PC2100 DDR RAM (DDR266mhz) PC2700 DDR RAM (DDR333mhz) PC3200 DDR RAM (DDR400mhz) PC3500 DDR RAM (DDR433mhz) PC3700 DDR RAM (DDR466mhz) RDRAM 600mhz RDRAM 800mzh RDRAM 1066mzh there mayeb 1 or 2 cpu speeds i am missing, but more or less the RAM should match the speed of your CPU as close as possible so u can get a 1:1 ratio and havea speeding system not sure if anyt of these links will help. Hey all i have a computer on our network here that i want to limit the bandwidth on between certain times. Basically the person who works on it (is a home office but someone comes in to work shifts) i want to limit it as they tend to download things, 50 @ a time! instead of just downloading one thing and waiting, they open the max IE windows and kill the bandwidth as we are only ona 512cable line - max 70KB up and down. So i want to limit the banwidth on that computer. we have a netgear router, but it does not seem to have anything built in to do it so any feedback is good!

Quote: Yep, I remember these guys quite well, used them on Cisco routers just like yours So is it possible to have an RJ45 conenction in and then the on out via the adpater? basically have Modem ----> Netopia Router ----> Hub -----> Cisco 2501 -----> computer -
^^^ actually not true, your system can be "unstable" and u can operate fine to some degree, pending on what you run. it is once u run that certain program(s) or something that executes a thread that your cpu can not handle and BAM crash. this is why it is best to run a CPU application like SETI or Prime95 to fully burn in your cpu.

Quote: Yes I prefer to use only S-Video to S-Video and separate L-R audio patch cables. This is the best option for the best output until a good optical output gets developed for graphics cards that is very true! s-video is your best bets the new RAC out is great 3 rca out for video and 2 for audio, supposedly better that s-video!! got it on my dvd player out to my tv and once i gte my oher rig back up - i will have SPDIF (fibre optic) audio going into my 4.1 surround speaker (my Abit BH7 has the SPDIF in and out! s should be real good

no chk disk done, but shall do one as for the printer it is a crap hp deksjey 845c and asharp laser /scanner combo - neither can be fited with nic cards - and more or less i had an extra box lying around - as the comps are in the accountants office, and on weekend they take their laptop home, which is what they work from, which was normally what he printers were hooked upto. -
Hey all, here is the dilly YO! i need an ftp server (unless G6 /bulletproof can do it alone or with a script) I need an FTP server that can track 1 account that logs in, and mainly be able to track 1 specific file that it downloads. For example Account JoeBlow Logs in, he has access to 2 possible files to download File A or File B How or what can I use / do to have a tracking system that will tell me how many times File B was downloaded and if possible, what days / time it was. All info or feedback is appreciated!

I can't say I've come across one that would do this, sorry EXACTLY! i am looking @ various scripts for G6 adn was told ProFTP may do htis, so got some testing to do. -

^^^ yeah g6 does log EVERYTHING but what i want more or less is for it to log specifics as in Account A downloaded file ABC x amount of times thing is G6 and such logs evrything so Account A downloaded files ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ see what i mean - what i need is for the ftp server to ONLY log if a certian file is downloaded.. -

Quote: Have you heard of Jesse James? Not the outlaw. He is the onwner of West Coast Choppers. I saw a program on him a while back. He produces almost the entire bike from scratch by hand. Its really amazing to see him take a piece of sheet metal and turn it into the body of a motercycle. All the big name celebs go to him for their customized bikes. I think he had his own show on the discovery channel for a while where he turn old cars into other things. He made a submarine out of a VW Bug Jesse James - i have seen a few shows on him and he seems to do GREAT work! if i ever got a bike - i think i would spend the money and go to him! for sure! very very impressive work he ahs done! -

Quote: But I'm running not overclocked now and PSU temps are almost the same. Maybe a cheap 250W PSU just labeled as 300W. I ordered the components to build my own box, I too hate those prebuilt stuff. But I got the case and a LG 52x burner for almost the same price as all the other components alone. I asked if I still had 1 year component waranty if I open the case and they said it will void all waranty. I probably won't be able to keep my hands from opening the box after a month or two. But if something fails it'll be expensive Building your own is better, you stil usually get a 1 year warrenty @ min. on all parts you buy, - unless it is OEM packaging. The PSU - what you need to look @ is the 3.3 + 5v output - that is what matters, not the 250w or the 300w. if it is not on your PSU - but u cant tell cause u cant open your case - but if anything search the web for your PSU to see what the specs are. -

Quote: I would install better cooling, but I can't open the case cos it'll void my 2year waranty. It was enough pain to install a secod fan through the psu opening. It's like fixing your car's engine through the exhaust. Who did you get this system from? that is SUCH BS if you open your case it will void the warrenty - so if u want a rma upgrade you have to send your WHOLE case to the shop that is BS Who did this syetm for you, PLEASE let me know did they put sticks on the joints to say if it is broken the warrenty is void? let me know full details, sure there is a way around it P.S have u been over to http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/index.php?s= may want tro check it our if your getting into O/C'n alot. -

Good idea, shall try that one. as for the Ip one, the company likely does not want to spend more money ona printer. These 2 are not overly used, mainly accuonting, but one is the laser printer/scanner so once ina while support needs to use it. i was hoping it could be adapted to a nic for that reason, shall have to look again. -

Actually chritian - getting various ram types and perfromace is not really silly - if u use say a P4 platform, and then comapre the various types of ram getting the ratio is just right. For his P3 system he is upgrading everything, cpu whole nine yards, a brand new rig, as far as i know. - so comparing a pIII 1ghz to a p4 - the results are rather obvious. 1:1 is the ultimate goal, so to find the perfect DDR for your P4 for example it would be good to have a comparision of say a P2 2.4 with each type of ddr as which one ultimately gives the best performance with stock speeds and even overclocking. DDR3700 is not for everyone, but many like it - my mobo handles a max of pc2700 but i have pc3200 in it for overclocking - give me that extra headroom on the moemory since i am upto or can hit 180mhz FSB on my Abit Bh7 on a 2.4b chip. so there are various factors which can help decide as to what DDR (if DDR is the choice) of which to choose that would best suit ones needs on a specific platform.
