Quote: Heh, Guess those comp specs weren't in MS testing. Not suprising since MS seems to be testing less and less these days for hardware compatibility. Heck eventually they'll probably push out MS qualified computers which specific MS approved parts. $10,000 home computers here we come..... (Yeah, I'm exageratting) Not really if your a MAC user...lol

Disable Macromedia Flash plugin installation prompt
Mr.Guvernment replied to capoguy's topic in Software
just install the flash plug-in and get it over with?? -
Why would you want to? This is a server O/S , not a desktop O/S to customize..lol

^^^^ could be - never heard that one, but also have no experience with it. also, do u have the video options set into "video overlay" properly in your advance settings?

Power connector is hooked up - this card will not boot if it is not - puts a big warning on the screen and the dell drivers are ATI drivers - i have tried MS and dell from my Dell XP cd as i reinstalled windows with my dell disk and left the default drivers. -still issue. someone on another forum told me that is usually a sign of a bad memory chip - but for it to suddenly happen is weird. i contacted ATi to see if i can RMA it directly - with out having to , i assume, send my entire tower back to dell to deal with.

Quote: Any major fixes for it? I hear sp1 just messed everything up. didn't mess anything up for me, nor did it seem to fix anything either. I Think there will alweays be a group of people that something screws somethying up for them and instead of getting to the actual root of the problem, them simply blame 1 individual thing. if SP1 messed so many things up, why does it work fine for me on the 6 + systems it has been installed in ranging from a 133 laptop to an over clocked 2.4 @ 3.2 ghz machines ranging from a gaming rig to a MySQL database and web server

Seems apple is copying AMD technolgy..... http://www.amdzone.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1296 Quote: Jobs presented on the PowerPC G5 on this Monday the 23rd to an audience that Jobs couldn't disappoint no matter what he did or said. The 64 bit PowerPC 970 designed by IBM, but Apple would like to lead you to believe they spearheaded design. The PowerPC 970 shares many qualities of the Opteron, and you will be certain that no AMD CPU is ever mentioned during Job's presentation. The G5 system takes advantage of HyperTransport which of course is an AMD technology, but AMD was never thanked in Jobs speech. Al Gore, internet creator, was shamelessly trotted out by webcam however. plenty more to read as well. intersting read really seems apple has copied ALOT of PC technology and yet MAC user seem to say the other way around - so right now with that article - all MAC has is it's FireWire which it made, and MAC O/S - to which i do not beleive Apple invented... this is why i was so curious why there were no Opter or AMD chips used in the bench's only intels......

lol hate when u got to wait - u want somehting now, but u know u should wait - iam bad for that, but better now! -
if u want to check out the thread, go nuts. http://www.hulla.info/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13641&perpage=40&pagenumber=1 (it is a "rave" forum, most of my friends back home post on it - no, i am not a raver..lol) the 2ghz apples are impressive,a nd they are now up 2 date on hardware - but again still lack SO much compared to a PC. my main point is price vs. performace vs. upgradability - PC"s are superior. P.S - if u want a laugh: http://200.12.238.21:6543/mac/

mayeb just throw a fan in the case in the front and one in the back just to assure some air flow is going on.

mr beta man i dont bother with my ti4600 any more with updated drivers - i have not seen any imnprovement with current ones over previous - mainyl in overclocking - i get better scores and bench's with older drivers made more so for the ti line.
-
yep the w/c arrived, most of it. - well, all that i ordered from that one palce. although i do not want to water cool the 9700 PRO - since it is under warrenty with my dell still (only 1 year but still), so i put my Ti4600 back into my bh7 system - as an example on 3dmark2001 my 9700 vs my ti4600 both got between 15-16,000k on the standard test, so the overclocking has helped push my ti to almost a 9700 pro performace - of course minus using AA and FSAA and such. if the Ti goes well with water cooling, - i will likely invest in a new mobo for my 2.4a chip a nice new abit is7 or see what they come out with within the next months, then work that sucker up as well and have 2 ultimate gaming machines which frankly i think will booth eat up and spit out doom III with noooooooo problems as anything i throw @ them now have no issues with everything maxed out - even ut2003 on either box. as for the money, well this company is very good and trusting, it is very small, i am close with the CEO and the owner, so it is not really something it think i have to worry about. and if i do, time to find a new job..lol and i have learned alot from my past jobs, just nothing related to this, as the only previous job i had that was a "real" job was in a telecommunications company working in operations, where i did alot of data entry and i just kind of hung around the IT's and learned what i could.

i have heard good about the kingston - someone on hard forums got a 2.4c upto 4ghz using hyper X. (or it may have been a 3.0c but sure it was a 2.4c) dual channel would be good - i am having issue with my p4s533 - my 9700 PRO it seems to display like checkers on the monitor in the back ground, almost the same color as the background - so may replace that mobo with a new ABIT IS7 or something as i do not have this issue with my 9700 in my other systems. have not yet decided - more worried about my w/c setting up now once my rad arrives.
-
u forgot to mention Apple..lol they just got their new processors @ 64-bit and 32-bit compatible as well. they have just got their deal with IBM and have out 2ghz 64-bit CPU's - i was getting into an argument with a MAC freak - know MAC vs PC - is interesting - anyone have any good points to throw in - besides pirve /vs performance?

^^^^ the ti4600 has been beting the 5600 - u could of gotten a better temp card but anyways yeah Alec - the rad i orderd it is supposed to be 2-3 day delivery worldwide but 1-5 days to ship! i want it darn it and the fans in my case i am keeping i got 3 x 80mm on the back - 2x 80mm on the front and one on the side panel blowing in around about the vid card and cpu. now i am trying to get my design for a custom ram cooling for the g4 using fans instread of water - should be interesting - now, if i cna remeber how to use AutoCAD. will save me some time tring to do it in Photoshop. I would say Alec, on your new rig - try out water cooling - even if it is just on your vid card or just your cpu - they are SO easy to set up! - i was kind of worried @ first, but it is so simple! P.S - u best be getting us some pics of that car once it is all done up! heck drive down to Costa Rica to show me -
XP Home s for home, not as a work station - hence HOME XP Pro is a workstation O/S 2003 SERVER - is a server O/S i think the names say it all.
-
what if you open the case - take out the vid card - clear the cmos and put the card back in and reboot? will nt think it is new hardware or reset it to it's defualt settings?

Quote: I use both. Only when using a LCD with DVI should it be used. or when u have dual monitors, there is no harm in using both the VGA and DVI with VGA monitors.
