Intel 3.06Ghz 800Mhz FSB HyperThreaded CPU: Good read!

the P4 Nothwood chips C1 stepping take the cake they are saying this new p4 2.4c could be the next "magic chip" people have also been hitting the 3.4g mark easily with these chips - week 9 and 10 i beleive. -
Quote: The real heart of an overclocking system is the Power Supply. A 350 Watt power helps a 2400+ to 2205 Mhz Stable. I think you might want to give a bit more power. I know, I use to get a 158 Mhz FSB on a 1700+. i would have to disagree with u there - the heart of over clocking is not your power supply - it is the chip you get - the specific week / factory. next would be Motherboard - one with PCI locking, spcific ram timing and other needed overclocking items - check out an Abit board - has it all! and Ram - need some good ram pc3200 / 3500 is good as it give u some head room. then powersupply - since most anyone who overclocks already has a 350+ w power supply. Quote: Quote: 1. AMD's do not over clock nealy as well as intels do. I can't believe that thats always the case. I have seen XP 1700 running over 3 Ghz. Thats a 1700 MHz OC! i would like to see that - any links? Considering i am a rather "hardcore" overclocker myself and have never heard of a 1700 getting anywhere near that speed. Quote: Without competition in the market place there is Monopoly or better known as MicroSoft. The only reason MS has a monopoly is because no other company - LINUX - has been able to produce a product that is user friendly for any level of user and is constant - LINUX is great - i am not bashing it, but it has way too many downfalls to become a main stream dekstop product. MS is on top because it has what people can use - as soon as another company can do that, they will be on top.

played it must say it is great - the only part i hate that MS seem to like doing is putting limits a MAX limit of how many units you can create - a maximum population - i can uinderstand for early in the game, but later one when u have researched all advances just let me make what i want darn it! other wise addicting - finished it - world conquer as the birtish, now i got to buy the game to play online - is worth ot..lol (yes i could not wait to buy it so i grabbed an "extended" free trial..lol

Quote: Q: I want better 3D gaming performance, but I have an integrated graphics card on my motherboard and no AGP slot for a video card. What's the most powerful graphics card I can use without getting a new motherboard? A: A GeForce4 MX PCI is probably your best bet. They haven't made a more powerful PCI video card (as far as I know) because of the limitations of the PCI. Do some research on how to disable the integrated video, before attempting to install a new card. Read and follow all warnings about work inside the computer's case for your own and your computers safety. Update to the most recent WHQL certified drivers for optimal performance. [edit] Be sure that your system meets all the video card's requirements: your mobos PCI slots must be complaint with the PCI card, and your OS must of course, be supported. [/edit] ATI has the a few PCI cards ALL-IN-WONDER VE (64MB PCI) RADEON 7500 (64MB PCI) RADEON 7000 64MB PCI RADEON 7000 32MB PCI RADEON 32MB SDR (PCI) (Video Out) ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 32MB SDR (PCI) would any of those beat out a G4 MX, - i had herd someone mentiona 9x flavour in PCI, but does not seem to exist.

not that this helps - but it works fine for me under XP sp1.

So after this format, we going to do a round 2 , haha nice results, especially on the floating point info, very impressive! not working tonight - going to the computer store to get some thigns - so may do some tweaking tonight on my system -

^^^ i didn't say that!..lol Well, i am going to format both my system either today or tommorw - depends, girlfriend will be over tonight 2003 is just not running right for some reason on my system - likely a bad install. once i format both machines and such - i will rerun 97" and send it to yeah of a clean fresh install on both with latest drivers and all. i am likely instead of getting a new Rambus mobo for my dell - just going to get a enw 875 shipset board, likely abit IC7 and some pc3500 and put the 2.4 in there and overclock the life out of it i like fans myself - my onw case i got 3 3000rpm fans in the case - just bought a dremel so added some holes ot the case, but i want water cooling on my main O/C rig, wha t ever it may end up being, then i will have my second system, likely all air cooled, with some serious case mods for extra fans. i may wait till monday to format as i need to buy a new case anyways and see if my water cooling arrives. not sure. Anything you would mayeb want me to try on a freshly formated system? -

a tweaker man himself! once my water cooling parts arrive my O/C box is geeting tweaked beyond recognition!! the 9700 pro likely would give better results, although wiht my over clocked ti4600 i do get high Framerates in some tests, but the actual design of the board would likely provide better vide result, will have to messs around with that today. -

i am curious about the video part myself! - was this on my dell 2.4 or the 2.4 overclcoked to 3.0? i have a ti4600 overclocked to 319 / 724 (300/648 stock) - i should maybe try it @ stock see what it does (this is on my 2.4 @3.0 machine with 512 pc3200) on my dell i got the radeon 9700 PRO -
Hey all i am replacing the mobo in my dell taking it out of their case due to crap cooling - so i need a mobo that support RDRAM 1066 This seems to the best board out there for what i need Gigabyte 8IHXP anyone have one that they are willing to sell for a decent price? preferably not overly used and fully working? my best payment option would be neteller - www.neteller.com (same idea as paypal but like them far better)

Hey all well since puttin in winrar 3.10 on 2003 extraction of my files is taking 4x + more time then it did under XP SP1? well over 10-20 mins to extract a 700mb file. Anyone have this issue?
-
Winrar 3.10 4x slower under 2003?
Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Everything New Technology
shall try 3.11 - it worked fine under regular XP and was not a beta. -
Hey all, Yes, i need the room!..lol i am aiming by the end of the year ot have a 1 terrabyte server (dont ask why..lol) now, since WD has the 250g out - i was simply considering 4 of these in a single computer (leave one out soi cna format witha cdrom drive, then put in the forth) - i don't want raid really, as it is one more thing that can go wrong. now i know the 250g drives are not actually 250g, so i will not have 1,000g with just them - but i already have 3 120g drives Can anyone suggest the best way of going about making, if possible - 1 system with 4 HD's in it? IDE or SATA - since the 250g drives from WD are SATA i beleive.... what mobo? - do any mobos support more then 4 hard drives....(that dont use Xeon's - or could i could just get a lower 1.* something xeon....) Ram amount? (512 should do it) CPU - i will likey just throw in a low P4 (has some recent issues with an AMD so going intel)
