Can't convert D drive to NTFS
Mr.Guvernment replied to videobruce's topic in Everything New Technology
Quote: Quote: clear off your D drive and format is fresh into NTFS? Heh, that's DEFINITELY a way for certain... I had to do that recently on my 2nd drive in fact: backup ALL of its data onto my first disk & just plain-jane redo it! or (mixed emotions on that experience!) * This assumes however this fellow can backup his entire disk though... that can be a "catch-22" @ times depending on how much he has on it etc. APK i was SO happy when i learned about paritioning and got my second HD way back when!, back up everything so easily, no more sitting for hours with a 4x cd burner burning gig's after gig's after gig's of backups just so i could format! (often over 20g) -
everyone seem to want to start a tehc forum - i wonder how long many of thise forums stay online for before going under. I am not putting down your forum, but it seems that since forums phpBB/vb/ubb/ becasme so popular everyone and their mother wants to set up a forum now! i am going to go into the forum design / set up / hack installing buisness! it seems though your forum has more to it then simply another news / tech forum claiming to have what others dont when in the end they dont.

great info all! i would go scsi - but they go not hav 250g SCSI drives out and to get 1 terra would likely cost me a fortune in many small scsi drives this is just for my home PC, so yeah that whole array thing maybe a liuttle too much. -

1 TerraByte Server - how should i do this?
Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Slack Space
as far as i kow if u use a SATA - it is the same as using an IDE - u can not use the 2 SATA and all the ide's one person suggested a IDE card, which would allow 4 more idea drives, this could work, any word on the performance of thse cards? as for cooling, no worries, i am an overclocking freak this server will have enough fans to fly away!..lol and i could possibly do dual power supplier in a server tower if needed. -
mmm, i do not have that issue with my swap disk, but i also made it 5g as i use it for my PS scratch disk and other things like that.

Cable service speed-testing - informative?
Mr.Guvernment replied to SnapperOne's topic in Slack Space
not to mention how many people in your area have cable as that will kill u as well, the speed the comapny say are a MAX of what you cna get, but will vary - it does not mean u WILL hit those speeds. -
XPlus - Express plus Email Client - Anyone used or heard of?
Mr.Guvernment posted a topic in Slack Space
Hey all, has anyone used of heard of this email client - if so, thoughts? http://www.isbister.com/express-plus-email.asp one of our employee's forwarded me their site asking about it - personalyl i said there are other clients to use like Opera and other likely better ones that have been out for a while and are an alternative to Outlook Express. -
see if u can get a wireless with the dual sensors in it

nvidia ti 4200 (4x agp).... lol - u done your recent reasearch my friend... the Ti's are dead in the muddy water and u can get far better ATI cards for the price - quality comparison. possible, but i would go against that with an ATI 9x series card - condiering the over all performance when you include AA and AF - it whips the ground with ANY TI card - not to mention the Dx9 compatiblity. the 9500 PRO - also may i mention that you can flash the bios of the 9500 pro to convert it into a full working 9700 PRO

go to (hardcore overclocking forum) http://oc-forums.com they can give u great advice on what to get! PS - be very carefuly with that cooler - for alot of people with AMD's it does not fit on their mobo and they have to bend transitors to make it fit - make sure u measure that u got enough room to fit that cooler.
