Have you tried differnet versions of drivers for your 4600 video card? Possible sound card drivers as well? Do you have a VIA chipset motherboard?

DVDXCopy one click pratically - but it is one that actually works!!!! - have used it a few times! i would say www.vcdhelp.com - it provides all of the links to software and does not provide pirated software - it tells you whether freeware or shareware

I have 512 meg PC2100 DDR. What should I set my swapfile to?
Mr.Guvernment replied to pr-man's topic in Software
It also all depends on how you use your system. i know Alec would likely talk to u about this, i beleive it was Alecstarr. for my over clocked system - i turned it off with 512 - as i do not use anything that uses 512 of pc3200. now on my dell here with 512 of pc800 - i use my swapfile especially when i got a million and one windows open and Photoshop which i have set to use %60 of my memory got to buy more! -
from what i heard, it is best to have your DVD or DVD-rw drive as the Master whether on secondary or primary. this may not help, but this was a suggestion i do recall hearing.

u can't do it in IE or set it to do that - that option is designed into the web page it's self , so it is a matter of asking the maker to change his html in his page.

XVid-Qix - Where can I get Qix? I think it's an Audio Codec
Mr.Guvernment replied to Christianb's topic in Everything New Technology
The one AC3 movie i saw has the same video quality - that i could tell of an mpeg DivX release - this release was 2cd's. can't recall the movie name, but i have seen mpg as 2 cd's as well, so for me, there is no noticible difference, even thoough i do have a 4.1 + sub speaker system and a 5.1 in my living room. -
Hey all well my uncle is doing a switch from Intel - which he has used since his 386! over to AMD and is going ro grab an AMD 3000+ This is the mobo he wants - anyone have any feedback? He will be getting an ATI video card - 8x AGP for sure... been hearing alot of issues with 8xAGP - but is it mainly VIA chipsets? as this board uses the nforce2 chipset...... any feed back would be great ALso - could any one recommend any good "dual" motherboards that could hold 2 3000+?

10,000 rpm WD SATA-EIDE drives on the way! 5.2ms seektimes!
Mr.Guvernment replied to SHS's topic in Hardware
^^^ i found the article - it was a 7,200 RPM drive, there first 8mb one i beleive - that was competing on the level of SCSI drives. Western Digital WD1200JB With 8 MB Cache: Outperforms SCSI Drives http://www6.tomshardware.com/storage/20020305/index.html i was positive i had seen a 10k rpm one that came in 18 and 36g sizes before..lol -
^^^ yeppers - WD has bene my latest - my first 120g i think is hitt'n a year old now and it gets USED!!! (ftp hard disk - extracting files - deleting - uploading new - i did a defrag on it - the bar was ALL red..lol i also had an IBM drive IBM 20g, and a Maxtor 40g - both died on me - so now i got those 3 WD's and 1 samsung as the main drive and no problems yet in a year for the samsung and the first wd 120g 8mb drive! i always go brand name - i don't go cheap - as you said you get what you pay for - i woudl rather save up and wait to get what i want as opposed to settle for something less quality.

Audigy Original or A7N8X onboard Nvidia APU???
Mr.Guvernment replied to jdulmage's topic in Hardware
Depends on what you want to do..lol a PCI sound card is likely to give you more options - but even onboard sound now is kicking butt my Abit BH7 has built in 6.1 surround sound..lol it is incredible! -
All i have to say ATi drivers sucks - is an OLD argument that no longer holds true - it is all hardcore NVIDIA fans can come up with to try and put down ATI now that they are kicking nvidia into the ground the 9500 has Dx9 support the ti's don't Do not get an old g4 card - as with in a short time they will be paper weights. Give it a few months if you can until ATI's full new range of cards is out. Now, you can get a 9500 (not pro) and flash it to become a 9700 pro! so that would be your best bet for sure. If you possibly wait until the 9200 and 9600 come out (9800 is out now) - then the cards you are looking @ now will be cheaper and a higher end card maybe in sight - as the 9700 pro is already @ $300 US and will likely drop to about $250 once the 9800 become more availible - which is a great price for a wicked card. I myself have a ti4600 and a 9700 pro

^^^ i really did not like Deus X - was too - well, boring for me - the 2nd part i have nto tried but heard it was a great improvement over the first. Diablo II i always go back to with the add-on for it. fun to play but can get boring easily when you have finished it numerous times already - but making new characters and building them up diff then you did before - my fav usually a double axed Barb or double swords - who needs a shield!..lol

hehe Quote: Apology from Canada to Americans Courtesy of Rick Mercer from This Hour Has 22 Minutes (Comedy-Political Satier) CBC Television: On behalf of Canadians everywhere I'd like to offer an apology to the United States of America. We haven't been getting along very well recently and for that, I am truly sorry. I'm sorry we called George Bush a moron. He is a moron but, it wasn't nice of us to point it out. If it's any consolation, the fact that he's a moron shouldn't reflect poorly on the people of America. After all it's not like you actually elected him. I'm sorry about our softwood lumber. Just because we have more trees than you doesn't give us the right to sell you lumber that's cheaper and better than your own. I'm sorry we beat you in Olympic hockey. In our defense I guess our excuse would be that our team was much, much, much, much better than yours. I'm sorry we burnt down your white house during the war of 1812. I notice you've rebuilt it! It's Very Nice. I'm sorry about your beer. I know we had nothing to do with your beer but, we Feel your Pain. I'm sorry about our waffling on Iraq. I mean, when you're going up against a crazed dictator, you wanna have your friends by your side. I realise it took more than two years before you guys pitched in against Hitler, but that was different. Everyone knew he had weapons. And finally on behalf of all Canadians, I'm sorry that we're constantly apologising for things in a passive-aggressive way which is really a thinly veiled criticism. I sincerely hope that you're not upset over this. We've seen what you do to countries you get upset with. Thank you.

Quote: I have never had a problem with the good folks of the US but I have had a BIG problem with the stupid policies their government comes up with, and I’m talking about the foreign policies. It’s these that are leaving a bad taste in the mouths of the rest of the world and thus reflecting badly on the citizens of the US. If the White House doesn’t get its act together soon that they aren’t the only country in the world that matters, the US won’t have any friends and that will be a sad day. Lets face it even America’s long time friends and allies are starting to look at them in a different way with every passing day. I wish i had of been able to say that myself - iam not good with putting into words what i think.
