weird Alec - as i have never had to add names or anything like that before on my network back in costa rica - just plug in a system and tadda! can see the network. 2 of these systems are using the same account name - Dave - and the same password on them (it is my uncles set up - easier to remember for him) Now i think his main system is trying to be the master browser(one i am on now called "davescomp") - as his AMD system in event viewer has some error's under system "MrxSmb" Quote: The master browser has received a server annoucncement from the computer DAVESCOMP that believes that it is the master browser for the dowmain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_blah blah blah. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced" I did not know computers ran democracies But i am gonna try what u suggested Alec - see what happens! if that don't work any other suggestions? -
I am trying to lock down a computer here @ work. - i am using the gpedit.msc to do most of it, how ever any changes made affects ALL accounts, not specifics. So 2 questions really 1. Can i use gpedit.msc to lock down specific accounts on this system running XP - there are 3 account - 1 Admin, and 2 guest accounts i want to severly limit access to, but not hider the admin account. 2. If i hide the run command but not allow the "run" window to appear in the START area - how can i access it incase i need to make changes? Thnx.

Setting 1 Outlook.pst file to be used by multiple computers?
Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Software
mm okay Does anyone know of an Email client / server that would allow me to do what is needed? Share one main source of email between various clients - all connecting to this one source - and when someone reponds to an email or something - it saved this change on the source file so all will see it or have access to it? -
Setting 1 Outlook.pst file to be used by multiple computers?
Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Software
Okay - mmm, i could work it so onyl one person can oen it - it is more or less me and one other guy - that instead of having to run down a flight of stairs - since we work from home - we cna acess the .pst from out comps - so likely only one of us will us it at a time. We use VNC and such, but well, the delay of a few seconds can be a pain! -
I have read some reviews on the card - and to me - it just seems like a GAP / time filler until their release their R400 cards... nothing overly impressive, but still a nice looking card. Supposedly the 256mb version will be called the 9900. Some review sites (thnx lazerin) http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1794 http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NDM5 http://tech-report.com/reviews/2003...ro/index.x?pg=1 http://www.bjorn3d.com/_preview.php?articleID=237 http://www.hothardware.com/hh_files...on9800pro.shtml http://www.hexus.net/review.php?review=520 http://simhq.com/simhq3/hardware/previews/radeon_9800/ http://www.nordichardware.com/revie.../Radeon9800Pro/ http://www.gamersdepot.com/hardware...9800pro/001.htm http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/r350/index.htm http://www.rage3d.com/previews/r350/ http://www.beyond3d.com/reviews/ati/r350/ http://www.ukgamer.com/article.php4?id=220&page=1 http://www.extremetech.com/article2...3,917575,00.asp http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030306/index.html Enjoy nd let me know what you think! frankly i am just glad to see ATI will finally have 256mb cards out as early as April! (next month) Also, i love how ATi does not need a vacum to cool a card more powerful then Nividia: 9800 and an FX

VNC is not secure enough to use over the internet i think. as someone else said: Quote: FadedTimes Posted: 19th August 2001 10:45 Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- because VNC is open source. I'm not a programmer and I've been able to hack it with even basic knowledge of C.

Hopefully buying the new Abit BH7 motherboard - if they get back to me about them saying that it can suport DDR400 - but then it says in specs only DDR333. buying this for my overclocking fun as i have amxed out my p4s533 board @ 166FSB and my cpu cna go highe then 2987!! i know that. - i love C1 steppings! -
u do need a mouse pad if the surface of your desk is highly reflective. as your mouse will fly across the screen quiet often even thought u moved it a small amount.

ATI Radeon 9800 (R350) - Thoughts and opinions?
Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Slack Space
ATI is allowing other companies to make AIW cards? that is a suprise. Wierd how they would not want to get their cards world wide!!! -

NVidia Freaks (like me) will want to read this one!
Mr.Guvernment replied to CUViper's topic in Hardware
the 9700 PRO can be bough on many sites for less then $300 now (and will drop even more with the 9800) - and the FX is well over $300 from all of the sources i have seen and a few people who have pre-ordered ones on the way. So, pay LESS money for a card that out performs a card 6 months newer in a good amount of benchmarks - or pay too much money for card that has min. performance gains over an old card that has all the same feature as this new card - minus a leaf blower attached to it? mmmmmmmmm, hard choice! Quote: don't hold your breath missing a whole 6 month cycle has put Nvidia behind and they will need ALOT to catch up - even just to gain the middle $100 - $200 card range - as the ATi's 9000,9200,9500, and 9600's will be holding this market pretty good - as the 9000 and 9500 already are - Nvidia MIGHT have a chance - if they can actually releases the new mid range cards on time Esepcially since the 9500's can be flashed to be a 9700 -

ATI Radeon 9800 (R350) - Thoughts and opinions?
Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Slack Space
Quote: I read somewhere that the 256MB version will be using DDR II not original DDR, dunno what truth there is in that though. yeppers - i just read that a few times, the 9900 is supposed to be out in late second quater and will have 256mb and DDR-II - but no details of clock speeds or anything, Frankly i want to see the 256mb AIW cards - can not wait for one of those - that i would buy! -
ahahhaha or when u are chasing the faded ghost to eat em and suddenly they change back and come after u! i just got silent hill 2 and installing it soon - lets see how it goes

Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Slack Space
^^^^ exactly - really no need to if you already have one - unless u got a hole burning in your pocket Since ym friend bought a video camera - may keep an eye out for when they relase a 256 AIW card -
My uncles just bought the new Asus board A7N8X Deluxe - some people have issues with it - he did not - straight in, all cards and a thermaletake aquarius II and a 2800+ AMD chip - water cooling system up and running BAM just like that!!!! now i have heard many have had to RMA their boards and have issues. but otherwise it is a sweet a** board!!!!!! get it if u can - frankly i prefer Asus for quality as i have never had 1 issue with them myself.
