Mr.Guvernment replied to adamvjackson's topic in Software
nice nice! i was actually hoping i could download office 11 - i searched everywhere on ms site i already got rc 2, and would have no use on exchange as i have no clue how to use it, so i really would not be able to test it out at all. -

MS stopped support on all game port devices with XP - if u want it to work with it's software - u need to get a USB version. -

Hey all curious i am signed up and receiving the ms windows.net beta testing, but i was curious if there is more i can get??? more so, longhorn, since it is now on alpha 3686, i was curious is this windows.net 2 ? is what i have heard - the next version of Xp basically. If so, does anyone know of a place to sign up and receive it? I managed to get it from a friend *cough* - but it needs to be activated in 14 days - so i would rather go about it the legit way, and sign up for it to test it out... any info is appreciated.

Well, want to severly slow down your system, play unreal II for over an hour. Bean playing, almost 2 hours now - and the video and such LAGGSSSSSSss so bad in some areas, as in i shot a guy and 2 seconds afetr he screams - he dies , or drops to the floor. My specs are pretty good ()eh p4 2.4) with 512 pc800 and 9700 pro. Could this just be a resouce issue with UT - this unreal , like all past as well, when you quit, your system is like a turtle for about a min or 2 after, while i guess it gives all the memory it uses back to the computer, often a reboot is needed just to get things going fast again.

what about those western D's that run @ 10,000rpm IDE drives - they were comparing them to scsi drives and in some tests, out performed them i think. it was a review on tom's site a while back. ^^^^ it is geocities - they do not allow outside linking of file, just right click on the red x and get the direct url. I assume then that alienware gets their cases from the same source... since those look like the cases alienware uses.

GeForce FX vs Radeon 9700 - your thoughts? - official thread
Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Slack Space
Well from ati - they should have the 9700 PRO 256mb cards coming out soon, and they would not give me much detial on the R350 Chip - which is supposed to be their next project - but with ATi driver support far better now - their next release would not suprise me - word was that it was tobe released with the FX - but that was very doubtful. Anyways - Nvidia better get their act together - drivers can give an improvement, but right now NVIDIA needs the numbers - so the drivers they have now better be good! as people who are likely to buy this card want it NOW and not have to wait 4, 5 months for drivers to come out that will give %25 boost! in perfromace. -
definetly go see it - most movies out lately suck..lol so the hulk will be a nice treat, just something diff, so to say.

if it was a warez copy - it would have a working no-cd crack ON the cd already

Folks getting TOO carried away gaming? Take a read...
Mr.Guvernment replied to duhmez's topic in Games
Oh course the media will milk this as another reason to try and ban video games. The child likely has more issue then videos game, perhaps like his father beats his mother. Violence like this goes deeper then a video game - why not look at how the child is taken care of? or if his parents simply do not care for him, or he was abused - there is ALWAYS a far deeper issue, a video game simply does not set someone off. i mean look at the BILLIONS! of people who play overly violent video game sand never once inflict harm on another human, or life form. -
hey all, got a tricky one for yeah! let me know if this is possible! - PS - the names are fake..lol (espz.net) It's nothing urgent, but it's always been bugging me. Anyone who does a TRACERT to a server / computer / ip will quickly see a clear route to it; e.g. 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 3 ms 2 ms 2 ms 6*.*.*.* 3 3 ms 3 ms 3 ms 19*.*.* 4 3 ms 3 ms 3 ms jhg51-h-fcs01.espz.net [21*.*.*] 5 36 ms 322 ms 5 ms jhg52-h-fcs01.espz.net [21*.*.*] 6 4 ms 4 ms 14 ms 4*.3*.*0-21*.espz.net[21*.*.*] 7 4 ms 6 ms 4 ms 13*.*.2*-21*.espz.net [21*.*.*] Trace complete. [/list:u] And all the espz.net stuff at the end leaves me a little queasy, as BAM - a wanna be hacker now knows the IP of that system. the espz.net names are obviously names of the core equipment and can not be changed. Here's what I'm wondering: there must be some 'technology'(As opposed to using a router [which is in place] to simply end a ping or tracert - is there another way....) to make a TRACERT respond with a somewhat (how shall I say) misleading answer. Something which would put hackers and such off the trail. Since there is nothing that can be done with the espz.net stuff, I'd imagine there would be some software / utility that would give the following as a response to the same TRACERT: 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 3 ms 2 ms 2 ms 6*.*.*.* 3 3 ms 3 ms 3 ms 19*.*.* 4 3 ms 3 ms 3 ms jhg51-h-fcs01.espz.net [21*.*.*] 5 36 ms 322 ms 5 ms jhg52-h-fcs01.espz.net [21*.*.*] 6 4 ms 4 ms 14 ms 4*.3*.*0-21*.espz.net[21*.*.*] 7 4 ms 6 ms 4 ms 13*.*.2*-21*.espz.net [21*.*.*] 7 4 ms 6 ms 4 ms here.not.really.net. [216.*.*.*] 8 6 ms 34 ms 9 ms roses.are.red.net [216.*.*.*] 9 14 ms 22 ms 8 ms see.me.ping.net [121.222.32.555] Trace complete. [/list:u] Where we can determine/set the false names and IPs of everything after the last real address (which a server, running this clever utility).

Server Event viewer interpretation (Logon/Logoff)
Mr.Guvernment replied to rwilliams3's topic in Everything New Technology
could very well be he has logged in and out, multiple times, or do u simply want to know when he was in the first time, and logged out the last time? you can sort it by time / date i beleive. Management woud likey want ALL times - they are probably seeing how often users are away from the stations when they should not be. -

from the person i was looking for. Quote: Thanks for keeping on this. I came across a program that pretty-much does what we need, but unfortunately it runs under UNIX. Maybe your guys know of place to get a similar utility for NT. http://onlinesecurity.virtualave.net/attacks/tools/roto.htm now to find a windows version! -
Confuse a tracert - show it more then it actually is???
Mr.Guvernment replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Security
dam thas alot of reading..lol *prints this page* Well, to let you know, the server is on a static IP and is on the backbone of an ISP in their server room - so the releasinbg of the Ip is not something that will be done. there are hundreds of people a day connect to it and it is on 24/7. but yeah, i am off to read everything over a few times. -
