    Best Email client?

Quote: Quote: Mozilaa sucks hard. You can tell its open source ;( What's wrong with open-source?? to me, there are too many wanna be famous programmers and they keep making more and mroe apps that are not stable, when they could all colaborate together and make one wicked app and all get equal credit, perfect example - Linux (not saying linux is not stable - just could be better) - if all the diff, version and comapnies got together they could make one version of linux that would be user friendly and likely then out sell M$ and drive it into the ground. just my thoughts on it.

well, for one, the only norton apps i sugegst you use are anti-V and MAYBE speed disk the rest u don't need. period and ther are better progs out there to do the jobs that norton can. I have ahd norton delete system files before ti said i did not need, so this is why i don't use the rest of the stuff. As long as you not a person install constant apps adn such, fill'n your reg, u don't need the apps.

Am I the only 1 who thinks EA are ignorant sluts?

Quote: They better get support up for XP, or they be in deep Sh!t. I've heard that EA is just gonna do console games. Fine, as they seem to not want to support the NT core/users...sounds like Creative. Thankfully, I like FPS and other violent games. They have Xp support.... any EA game i have tried on ma comp, from madden - nhl 2000 - 2003 all worked fine. Need for speed worked as well.

The: What Computer Part did you buy this week thread

Quote: Quote: I could not for the life of me find a widescreen HDTV with any kind of monitor connnector. Well HDTV seems to to still be a novelty for the rich here, & not the sorta thing you see in most high-street stores, but I have seen the 15 pin D-Sub connectors on ordinary widescreen TVs. Having done a search on the net [which was more productive when I searched on "XGA" instead of just computer ] there are plenty with that type of input.... but they're all LCD, Plasma, rear-projection, or actual projectors, which are all a tad pricey. However, if you'd be willing to settle for SVGA then I did find a place called Electroline that does some HDTVs with SVGA input for somewhat less scarey prices. A m8 was telling me that they are supposed to be "copy protecting" HDTV signals to prevent copying of films and t,v shows via what ever method - how ever this will dgrade the quality signifigantly I was like, okay, if someone wanted something that bad they would just get a regualr T.V - also as he said, whay are you paying the high prices for the quality, when it will be degraded. will try to find the full story.

    Trillian the best or what?

Well, ever since it first came out, and the very first build that my friend decompiled and took a look at and said u might as well send a message across the net saying "hack me, hack me" cause it''s programming and security was so bad, i don't trust it, although it has likely gotten alot better, i still don't trust it, also the fact that u are giving a 3rd party company your login information for each program to log you in, i would rather sitck with ICQ and MSN as seprate items. - just feels safer to me.

Possible to trade in zone alarm for something else? i have not personally used it, but it is the firewall software i read about the most people having problems with it seems. <--- personally uses Norton (last 3 years) - basic, and does the job well

    The Official UT 2003 thread

Quote: M4: Looks good... I'll have to check that out Mr.Guvernment: If Quake 3 is too slow for your liking, I'd really like for you to take a look at CPMA (Promode). It's a modification for Quake 3 that allows for fast weapon switching, ability to change direction while in midair (like QuakeWorld) and many other improvements and bugfixes over regular Quake 3. I can provide a link, if you're interested to some Promode game demos, they're unbelievable. This mod breathed new life back into Quake 3. pmistry: I agree with your opinions on Quake 3 and UT/UT2k3. I actually downloaded and installed the demo for UT2k3, and IMO, is requires less 'skill' than Quake 3. In Q3, aim is of the upmost importantance, whereas in UT2k3, it seems as though the weapons were designed to be 'accurate enough' where aim is less, if at all, important. The general weapons seemed to be what I would consider 'spamming' weapons, not skill-based weapons. Sorry for the long rant, but hey, I did give UT2k3 an honest shot... I just think it fell short. I will have to check that out, or just wait for a new quake to come out Because Quake 3 seem slower, i found it far easier to kill. As for the aim in UT2oo3, by defualt in single player "auto aim" is turned on. may want to aht turned off. and i have noticed that weapons are LESS accurate now in ut2003, and have a smaller spread on them. The sniper gun (eletric thing) u often need to take multple shots and it is hard to tell if it hits. even with the flak canon @ close range you don't often get a direct kill. sometimes takes 2 shots, unlike the original ut. Another thing i have noticed lately in ut2003 - is the ATI - even on God like, if you play capture the flag, or bombing run, you can run right around, or beside an enemy and they won't shot @ you, cause they only seem to care about the player with the "bomb" of the flag. - i think this is something they may need to address in an update.

    Signatures?

i beleive most forums simply have an option of no images in sigs. either way, if they are allowed a good standard that i have seen around is all sigs must be under either 40kb or 30kb.

    The Official UT 2003 thread

to me Quake 3 game play is WAY!!! too slowwwwwwwwww especially compared to UT the orginal. i played ut for years and a few month back decided to give quake a go, i almost fell as sleep the game speed was so different. but to each their own. the graphics are deum sweet on many maps, and i am still trying to get the whole bombing run idea, like passing it, i think that will be a GREAT!!! live team player game, as u can do so much and it relies highly on team work to really do well. As for downloading maps, i was the same with UT - had like 2g's of maps, but then it just got boring, i hope the selection of maps is good for ut2003. I like the old rough feel of the original UT - seem less like a "cartoon" as i saw Quake. i like rigide, not rounded. I also assume someone will likely make some mods which will bring back the old weapons, this would be nice to see.

    The best reliable download manger

Quote: Everyone does not realize the TRUE beauty of using download managers. What happens to your 750mb download when your computer crashes? See what i mean? any large files i get are off of FTP's which alloew apending / resuming so never have had that problem. - even senidng a large file over ICQ - ICQ allows resuem as well, and may site which allow downloading of large files will allow resuming, even via IE.

Win 2000 Pro And Half Life

Is ther a reason you haven't connected to a server? Perhaps you dont have a key which means u got a warez copy? reinstall it? get some updates? if it is a warez version someone may have very well given you one with a built in speed cheat. Win2k will not speed up only certain parts of your game, it must be the game alone is messed up.

Upgrading Win2K from different language OS

well, u don't want to format, but i would highly suggets it if you can! as upgrading from a 9x to an NT kernal to me would not be smart and could cause ALOT of problems down the road. have u check out MS's support? Perhahps there is a reg key u can change to make 2k think it is an english version.
