Hello, recently i began to receiv this problem with media plyer, not matter what kind of file i tried to open icould not play anything!!! all i got in media player was the below (see pic) http://lightning.prohosting.com/~mrguv/Pictures/mediaplayer-suxs.gif I have tried to repair' xp, no go, i tried to uninstall it , but had no luck either, cause their is no UNISTALL!!! (i looked for previous threds on this but, coulnd't find anything.) I checked the MS site to see if there is a fix, nothing!! can someone help me uninstall, and possibly reinstall media player? be SO appreciated, all i want to dis watch a movie!! (mpeg)

kew kew, will give it a shot! i usually have the codecs installed, it worked fine for a while with out the codecs, cause i haven't been watching any aiv's lately. MMMM i installed the DivX 4.33 codec i suaulyl use no g, i don't really want to install the divx 4 , cause i don't like the player, but oh well will try, Anyone else know how ot possibly uninstall, and reinstall medi player if this don't work?

Hello all Okay, here is the problem, I use CDRWin to make iso image files, in win2k never had any probs, BUT in XP, everytime i try to make an iso image file, just make one, not burn it, it crashes @ 99% or right when it is about to say 'created successfully', i have checked the iso image, and it is always short some files, from what i put in it so....... 1.Anyone else have this problem, and know a fix for it 2.What else can i use to make an iso image file (beside adaptec for i hate it, and nero always puts _ in spaces and uses all caps, how can i disable this? or can i) all help is appreciated..

Well, i don't know what you guys are doign wrong. Although netscape does suck, i usually needed it to make sure web sites came out okay for both IE and Netscape. I have insatlled Netscape 6/6.1 and previous versions (always put in the latest version) on 2k /2k server /adv server / Nt4 /98SE , and now XP, i never had any installation problems, nor has it ever froozen my comp. The only thing i really hate about NS is it's dam hour long load up time!

try NetOp or remote control a HECK!! of alot more secure then pcanywhere, and less 'junky' , as in they don't have the million and 1 extra options you don't need installed with it opening more ports.

MMMMM, i havent' read EVERY post here, but is making a HD image some how possible and copying it to the raid drive? Just an idea (10 am in the morn, i ain't awake yet!)

Hey, i just installed Xp last nite, and i put in PS this morn, it took a while, the installation hung for me, so i ran the setup again, then did a ctrl+alt+del, killed the second set up and splash screen), opened up IE,and the first installatoin started. I have had this happen in 2k, so it is not just xp, give it a try, try running the setup a few times, and do some other things, that seem to give it a boost

Your hard drive is dead, burry it and move on, mine just died, same thing, spin up and down, sounds like the head is grinding into the disk (i had a wave recording of it, iwill try to find it), it officially died last night, so don't waste your time hoping, the maxtor utility won't tell u anything really, as long as it can 'read' the drive, then it thinks it is fine. Go for a new drive.

well, may i ask, why do u need the nvidia options anyways? you shouldn't really need to monitor your vid card. I say get rid of the nvidia 'extra' crap, thas all i can think of. Or get a newer version of adcraptec.

Hello okay simple prob. 1.munning 2 comps, win 2k server and winME 2.want to network/share internet OKay, i got the main comp (win2k ser) as the server, i got both comps seeing each other on the network, and sharing files/drives etc etc. BUT the internet will not work on the WinME machine..? i am lost, i got static IP's on the winME box and my second NIC in the win 2k ser box, the other NIC (to the cable modem is DHCP) am i missing something?? What do i put as the gateway? 192.168.0.1? (ip of the ICS shared NIC) or do i use the same gateway that the first NIC uses?? (one going to the cable modem?) PLEASE HELP!! i am ripp'n my brains out..lol ICQ me if u can ICQ 65361937

okay now for the DNS, it asks for a Host name and Domain (as u can see this is somewhat new to me) what do i put in the WinME box as the host and domain?(just what I have named it? 'winme' and the domain i have is 'mshome' so i just use these correct?) then do i put in the 192.168.0.1 as the DNS? or do i use the same DNS that my ISP gave me for my first NIC? i assume the same as the ISP?

well me got win 2k adv server and my winnt folder right now with IE 5.5 sp1 no sp1 is Size on disk :759mb that is with office 2k in,a few macromedia apps, adn such, bout 11 apps total..

well if u know how to program basically then yes u can make an integrated cd with all that on it

try reinstalling office? with a FULL insatll of powerpoint, with all features installed...

well i will tell u right now, it is not good to mix pc 133 and pc 100 mem that is prob why(works for some people but not for others), take out your pc 100 128mb chip, try it like that (just your 256) for a while, see if it crashes, if not, then u knwo what the prob is. ========================= ICQ me!!! okay, in order to make some extra $$(since i got no work yet and am behind on many bills my ISP being one of em) i have decided to try and start a little 'home' computer repair/consulting kind of buisness, i have been fixing a few computers here and there for people i know, but was told i should perhaps start a few ad's etc etc, now i know my internet will be getting shut off soon, BUT i can still go to my uncles and use his so i wanted to perhaps get a web site up, to advertise this 'possible' buisness but would like some input and idea's, more so as to what i should have ont eh site?? adn what i can 'possiblr' offer 'customers' stuff i plan to have are 1.forum.
