AMD is by far the better way to go. Iwas afraid to make the change from Pentium to AMD, but after alot of reading I decided to go for it, and I'm very glad I did.I have the 1Ghz socket A thunderbird and the ASUS A7V. this system screams.I'm using the ATI Radeon 64MB DDR(awesome card)voodoo is junk by todays standards.

You definately need to get the A7v, but wait to get the A7V133(usesKT133A).I origanily had the KT7-Raid, and had to return it for conflict problems a few days later. Since having the A7V evrything has been incredibly stable. Just make sure you flash to the most recent bios and most current VIA and Promise drivers. I promise you will be happy.

If don't wish to spend an awful lot of money, but you want a dam good(maybe the best)then you wan't to get an ATI Radeon 64mb DDR. Any hardware review will and has shown that this card performs as good , and beven better in some tests, than the Geforce 2. Thias card has many more features than the Geforce and even boasts features that will benefit future games. This maens this card will be in your system longer without needing to be replaced!
