I don't know what I must be doing right, but that RES fix worked fine for me. I just selected the custome setting, then set everything below 1900 to 85mhz and viola it was done. And as for running a monitor at 1900??? Yikes! Are there any that can do that? And even so, I'd think you'd need a larger one than a 21" to see it right. Mine can supposedly go up to 16oo, and I have tested it there, but you start loosing the refresh rates as you go higher, and it starts to get harder to see everything unless you make it larger.

Really? I used that NV Res fix, and no problems for me.

Did that, and it helps. But it still has problems once in awhile during combat and locks me up. Luckily with Auto-Attack on, the network still thinks I am swinging. I think it also might be a fault in THEIR code too.

Its a real shme that M1TPII does not work. But I have heard somewhere that MP might be sold (again) to a French company As for Panzer Elite? I think you will find it as good, if not BETTER than M1TP! I do. But I hardly ever play it as the gunner. I use the hatch open commander's position, and direct the gunner/platoon from there. And it can be VERY hard, specially when there are Tiger's tagging yer *** from miles away! Also, the infantry and support vehichles are well modeled, and actualy work too! Asked this long ago - NO. It won't work, sadly, as I wanted it too! And thanks to HasCRAP, we will never see M1TPIII ever! The only thing I can suggest - Panzer Elite works under Win2K - but needs some minor tweaking.

Hate to say this, but have you tried Counterstrike? As I said elsewhere, I am not into FPS, but this one has me hooked! And works fine for me in W2K with the NV 7.52 drivers. Its the only game that makes me feel like I was still playing Paintball.

Clutch, you really ought to try HL: Counterstrike! I am not into FPS or twitchers, but CS has got me hooked. Why? Cause there is more to it than fragging. Teamwork and strategy. And you can even win a game without racking up any kills. Its the only game on the PC yet, that makes me feel like I did in my old days playing Paintball - but without the real pain As for the Game only OS - isn't the new Microshaft X-Box supposed to be that?

Ok, I got Rainbow 6 to work with the 1.04 patch. And EW actually starts after that patch, but exits to the desktop when I get to start the mission.

What a weird one for me! I HAD R6 and EW working when I first installed them a month ago. I got busy and did other things, and now went back to play it last night - it wouldn't work!!! So, I too went and did the registry hack (modified for where I installed it), copied the VCT32150.DLL file, and even did the QFixApp, and still have problems. R6 will now run and go all the way to the oppening game screen, but though the soond works, the screen is frozen. I can even switch views to the different teams, but the action is frozen. As for EW, can not even get it to start. Well, is Rogue Spear any better??

In the settings for some Plextor drives, like for my older UltraPlex, there is a setting to prevent low speed reading. That might help???

Here at work they decided to install SMS 2.0 (SP1). On all our Win98 machines, when our logon scripts run, if not now, it WILL happen eventually - the systems lock up. When you hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, the same program is not responding - MPREXE.EXE! At first, we thought it was McAfee 4.0.2, so a special logon script was created to remove it and reinstall McAfee 4.0.3 - this worked for awhile, but now again its starting to happen all over the place! As these are Compaq Deskpro's (from older P180 4000's to newer P7033 EN's), we then found removing the crap Compaq Insight Manager software (DMI junk) helped for a bit - but yet again only on some, or it returns again on many others. We then tried adding network drive (PDC and BDC) exclusions - again worked on some, not on many others. The last thing we tried was to add \\ as an exclusion, but that defeats the purpose of having an A/V software. Now, the latest bandaid we have found, is that if the user logs on IMEDIATELY when the logon dialog box appears - and before the dreaded McAfee shield pops up, they CAN boot fully to the desktop. But this is NOT a fix! More of a P I T A. So, has anyone else had this problem? And clues on what to do next? At this point in time, McAfee has to stay, so we are stuck with it.

Oh boy! Now another option added to the mix! There is the WHQL 6.62 drivers, the supposed speedier (LEAKED) 6.67, the DX specific (LEAKED) 7.17, and now an "official" NV 6.50 driver!!!???!!! Just which one is the newest one, the more stable one, and the faster one? And if the 7 series is supposed to be made for DX8 - why are they still making the 6 series, and not releasing an "official" 7 series???

I've had that problem when I had my firewall set to too high a level.

True, the 6.47's worked pretty nice, but the 7.52's make MW4 nice and smooth. Also HL is working in OGL, so I can live with a tiny mouse pointer in EQ only.

Hmmm, I am using a PIII 933 on a genuine Intel D815EEA mobo and a Leadtech Winfast2 GTS - and the only game now (MW4 works, and HL now works in OGL with 7.52!!!) having a problem is EQ too! But not screen flicekr - I get the desktop CURSOR embedded in the screen! Sometimes its the pointer (use the KEY from Windows on the Road), and a few times its been the "I" bar for text. But as all else works fine now (even BETTER), I guess I can live with it.

One idea for thought that MIGHT work - in some computer BIOS, you can select which hard drive to boot from. It might be possible to use that to select which OS you want to boot - sort of make them completely seperate installations. But I wonder also, remember System Commander???? I wonder if there is an NTFS version that might work???
