Yup. I think philipp was gonna do that awhile back, but I guess not....

Try dropping the hardware acceleration and play with the volume controls if that doesn't work.

So far, I've never had check disk come up after an unplanned reboot with NTFS. The only time I have it come up is when I force it to run with DiscKeeper. That's it. Unless MS was going to do something drastic with FAT filesystems, it wouldn't be worth it. There's even less reason to with NTFS.

PCI Radeon + DELL Intel Mobo + WinXP = Hangs at bootup?
Brian Frank replied to Jeeves's topic in Hardware
Knowing Dell, it's probably an i810 board, possibly an 815 w/o the AGP slot (probably not). May want to try reserving an IRQ for video while in BIOS too. -
Exactly. I backup my critical data on CD-RW. I have it on my file server and make those files "available offline" to my other two. That way, I've still got two rigs with the data on it in which to burn CD's too...unless the one with the burner goes down ;(

Probably'll take about a month to RMA them. Tough break, pimpin'. Happened to me too.

I just saw benchmarks with the Unreal II engine and the 8500 came on top except for the highest resolution, and that is a real game. I'm not sure how optimized it was however. That's funny about the 8500 being an extra 100 over the Ti500. It's typically 100 less than the Ti500.

They work fine, though I would suggest scraping off the thermal pad and using some thermal goop (unless it's Radio Craps). I just put a system together for a guy I work with and the Taisol fans that come with the CPU's do a good job for normal use. They definitely aren't overclocking material, but fine for everyday use. You can buy better coolers however.

Just for the record, the Radeon 8500 is faster than the Ti200.
-
Yup. Of course, it'll be forever and a day until we use it... ;(
-
Tried it through Media Player, doesn't run very well--choppy. Glad to have my WinDVD (I have several copies of this software ;( )

Have you tried doing this while under the ADMIN account, or just under you admin account (your name with admin priveleges)?

Install the Via 4.37a 4-in-1's and the Via AGP 4.10 patch for starters. Also, set the BIOS to the defaults--should be an option from within BIOS to do so. Also, get the Windows Updates ASAP.

Possibly the oldest piece of hardware, other than maybe a floppy, is my Logitech Deluxe 104 Keyboard. I've been using it for about 3 years, and have never had a problem with it.
-
I suggest the Vantec CCK-6027D. Copper cooler and just using cheap goop packaged with the cooler, I run 51*C under load @ 1.53GHz and 1.85Volts. While your temps are pretty warm, if that's the load, you should be doin' pretty good.

What happened to competition? Oh, wait, since MS is making so much money, they surely must be an evil corporation and therefore must be punished by suing their @SS off. NS is owned by AOL...possibly why it sucks:p
-
I use OE since I can block people without having to make a rule. And, death to Windows Messenger!
-
Not necessarily. It's just the top that Intel is gonna release it as. However, I think it may not be the greatest OC'r available, but you can always see about that.
-
Well, I got my defective Radeon 8500 replaced with a GainWard GF3 Golden Sample (ooh lala).
-
My opinion on what is wrong with XP: -Autoplay "feature" waaaay to integrated to a nauseating level -DVD Playing requires a 3rd party decoder, WTF is MS trying to do by even advertising that XP can play DVD's anyway? -The new start menu -Movie maker should be burned at the stake -What happened to optional components? -MS forgot about the Windows vets when they worked on XP.

Last ditch effort to beat MS: sue the hell outta them. What gets me is all these lawsuits don't seem to have to do with screwing the consumer over at all, just "screwing" another company because MS puts out a better product. Nutscrape sucks! It's just pathetic how people can't seem to get the concept of 'competition'. I'm not saying MS hasn't done anything to hurt anyone, but these lawsuits are barking up the wrong tree so to speak. Motto of the industry: If you can't beat 'em, sue 'em.

was there a Samsung memory patch a few days ago?
Brian Frank replied to emagowan's topic in Hardware
Same here with the Samsung chips. I did check under their site and there are some PC2100 chips that are only rated for CAS2.5. -

I've got it at CAS 2, no probs. I do know that one stick is DDR 333, which would explain alot. I cannot get the timing to run at 1T instead of 2T, though that could be related to my motherboard instead. All I know is that they can run PC266 no problem and then some @ CAS 2. I'm happy. -
Oooh. Black. Me like.

I can't say I've been experiencing problems, so I'm not exactly worried.
