I expected it to be out about 2 months ago. I did use RC 2.52 from M3DZone and the only real thing that changed was that I got random INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE crap occasionally. Was annoying. I would rather have SP2 late than buggy however. ------------------ Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 P3 800EB Abit VH6(Pro133A) 192MB PC133 SB Live! Asus V7700 Geforce2 GTS 3Com EtherLink III ISA

Just curious to see if anyone else has run into the same problem I have with SP2 RC 2.52. I know it is beta, but Im curious if anyone else who is running it gets the inaccesible boot device randomly. It never occured under SP1. ------------------ Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 P3 800EB Abit VH6(Pro133A) 192MB PC133 SB Live! Asus V7700 Geforce2 GTS 3Com EtherLink III ISA

Just reinstalled Win2K with SP2 RC 2.52 and detonator 7.52 drivers. I have noticed that whenever i switch resolutions in NFS Porsche Unleashed to anything above 640x480, i will get the standard windows hourglass icon stuck in the corner. This is particularly annoying when I am drivign and the stupid icon is blocking the spedometer. Anyone have this problem/know how to fix it? ------------------ Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 P3 800EB Abit VH6(Pro133A) 192MB PC133 SB Live! Asus V7700 Geforce2 GTS 3Com EtherLink III ISA

Occasionally when I boot up I get an svchost.exe error which terminates it. I check the event viewer and the error also kills Telephony, Network Connections, COM+ and various other services. I think I have linked the error to running Direct3D applications but I am not sure what to do about it. I tried reinstalling DirectX but to no avail. Anyone have ideas?

I was under the impression it was coming out today, but I guess not. And no, it wont have IE6.

Mine is 951mb. I think the folder is some damn big due to the backup of all the files that SP1 overwriters. I wish there was an easy way to get rid of them without messing stuff up.

My mouse sampling rate is set to 100hz via the Windows utility, but whenever I check the mouse rate with a program like Mouse Rate Checker or a similar program, the results always seem to be that the mouse is running at around 60hz. I have an Intellimouse PS2/Serial running the latest Intellipoint software(3.2). Even when I set the rate to 200hz using PS2Rate or any other such program the rate still is never past 60hz. The mouse doesn't feel like it is running at 100hz either. It is a bit skippy and blurry even with slow movement. Anyone know whats up?
-
Thats what i did. The 100hz set by windows is in the mouse properties. It doesn't seem to be going 100hz though, and thats the problem.

I recently moved from 98SE to Win2K. It's a great OS and games run fine for the most part except for a choppiness and bluriness that occurs when i strafe/move the mouse at the same time in games like Half Life/Q3. My refresh rates are maxed out and my mouse sample rate is at 200hz. Games are still playable but it hurts the eyes to see the choppiness as I move the mouse. My system: P3 800EB Geforce 2 GTS 128mb PC133 SB Live! 6.62 WHQL Drivers. Abit VH6 (Apollo Pro 133A) I know I need more ram, but I don't think that is the problem because I dont get the bluriness just strafing on it's own.
-
I am already using 4.28 drivers, and all those settings recommended have been. Mouse is set to smooth. Im not sure that it's a ram problem because the bluriness isnt associated with a hard drive hit or anything. Gonna add more ram anyways and try the 6.67 drivers and hopefully that improves some of it.

I believe you have to manually enable ATA 66 in Win2K. Some registry setting, i dont remember which. ATA 100 support is coming in SP2 I believe.

Whistler damn well better have a Classic Desktop option. All this frilly stuff seems like it was just made to appeal to Mac users.
