hmm I seemed to have found the answer I applyed the athlon win2k patch after that no crashs (3 hrs of testing ) http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/athlon-duron/amd_win2k_patch.html just for completion maybe someone has the same prob. cya MysticKnight

Hi, I have some probs with playing games under Win2K, every time I start a game that uses Direct3D or OpenGL the system compeltly crashs after some time (around 10 - 30mins), when the card is running in 2D (eg normal use) it runs smooth with anyproblems, I tryed severl drivers (ELSA drivers, Reference driver 6.31, 6.47, 7.17) with DirectX 8 and DirectX8a maybe some one know a solution. My Data: Windows 2k German v. SP 1 example Game: Quake 3 (1.27) Athlon 550 Gigabyte Motherboard 128 MB SD-RAM Elsa Erazor III Ultra (TNT2 PRO) a old Creative AWE 64 (ISA) USB Mouse (Microsoft Explorer) standart Keyboard think that were the most importand info.
