  1. Man it's your hpt controller. i had nothing but problems with that piece of crap. I bought myself a cheap promise ATA100 pci card and zero probs since then. I've been using diskkeeper 7 for 1 month now and no problems with it either.

    [Edit] Ohw sorry, i read to fast, i didn't see you disabled it. Nvm my stupid post smile

  2. Here's the thing. When i install autocad 2002 and i take a look in the add/remove program window, all the programs coming after autocad are placed waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay below the autocad entry. I mean there's a gap of 20 cm's.

    I found a key in the registry to be the cause. When i delete that key everything is fine.

    My question is: is it possible to make a reg file that will delete this key when i double click on it? So after a format i don't have to go into HKLM --> software --> microsoft --> windows --> currentversion --> uninstall (or something like that) just to remove that key. (it's a string value, if that matters)

    Thanks

    [edit]

    Here's some more details. i exported the key to a reg file:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{5783F2D7-0101-0409-0000-0060B0CE6BBA}]

    "DisplayIcon"="C:\\Program Files\\AutoCAD 2002\\acad.exe,-1"

    The problem is it tries to display an icon in the add/remove programs window, but fails, which makes a gap appear between that progam and the rest of the list.

  3. i got a network with 2 computers, running windows xp. The server is connected to the internet throughthe built in PPPOE of winxp. I'm using ICS to share the connection with the client as i didn't find any program that is compatible with winxp yet.

    My problem: at my college they use https for their intranet. From my server i can login fine, but from the client it doens't work. When i was using win2k with sygate home network it worked fine from the client.

    Is there any way to configurate ICS to allow me to login to the https?

    thanks

  4. I'm looking for a good mail client. I'd like it to be able to do following things:

    1) keep my mails from different pop3 addresses seperate (not like craplook express)

    2) It should have a built-in possibility to backup e-mails easily

    Is there any program like that out there?

    Thanks

  5. Here's my network configuration:

    ================================

    Server pc:

    ----------

    Win2k Pro with ip 192.168.0.1 and guest access enabled, C drive shared and printer shared.

    Client pc:

    ----------

    Winxp with ip 192.168.0.2

    The only way to make my shared C drive show up in my network places was to enable guest account (i didn't have to do that when the client pc was running win2kpro too).

    I can see my files on the shared C but i can't copy them to my harddrive.

    I get following error:

    "Cannot copy [filename]: access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use."

    The weird thing is i don't get this with all files...Some copy just fine.

    Can someone help me with this.

    Thanks.

  6. I'm afraid the only thing that can help you is installing partition magic 6.

    Or idf you don't care about losing data you can try the windows2000 setup again and make sure you define your partitions the right way.
