Cool.....Now one last thing....Does anyone else notice blurry text in 2462? With all the drivers ive tested, the desktop seems to have real blurry text! (well not so bad, but bad enough to notice)

Shrink: Are you talking about the ATA66 controller? If so... Did you have to install the drivers before connecting the HD to the Future ATA connector?

Oh, without using Powerstrip, in "games" it drops back to no less then 75Hz (My monitor has a onscreen do-hicky that can tell ya the exact refresh rate at any givin moment). But in powerstrip, you can have it set to run whatever, at whatever refresh-rate you want!! But never had it go below 75 though without using it... Uh...Does anyone have a link to d/l that tweak thingy?? Kinda don't like using powerstrip....eats to many valuable system resources...

I think anything to do with the internet violates your privacy, lol! But if Xp realy does, thats lame, i'd like to know myself! But I could realy care less, you see, my main system never gets connected to the Net Theres never even been a modem in that system.

Am I the only that didn't have the refresh-rate problem?? I run 85Hz @ 1024x768 with no need for additional proggys.

hhhmmm.....Wierd, I get awesume performance in the games ive tried so far (yes, that includes Quake III) on a GF2 GTS. BTW, for my system I find the Detonator 7.58 Win2000 WHQL-certified drivers give me the best game performance. Good Luck!

hhhhmmmm..... I was gonna buy the previews but I already have beta 2 now. You think RC1 & 2 will be all that much different? Beta 2 seems to run 100% here.....But I have no problem with buying the previews of RC1 & 2 to check out. (well, just one problem, hehe, getting the girlfriend to let me use her credit card, hehe) But also don't wanna waste my money on something thats gonna be the same as Beta 2 and have to wait so log to get it! So what do yaz think? Beta 2 close to what the final will be minus little bug and quirk fixxes? cheers

Sorry to hear you not like XP, cipher! I have it running on both my systems as the primary/only OS now! My thoughts have totaly changed with the latest release! What build where you running? And BTW, if you need the other wallpapers, let us know! I'll post them all on my site! ciao

Yea! I use the Detonator 7.58 Win2000 WHQL-certified drivers in beta 2 2462! (btw, i'm a stikler for game performance) Good Luck!

Use a spare HD to test or BACKUP your system first just incase you have a compadibility problem between your system and XP so that you wont mess up any important files on your system. Mabye do what I did and d/l all the win2k drivers you can for all your componets and have them ready if you need them. (if your a gamer, you'll probably wanna test different ones for speed anyways) I personally have a few more games/apps to test out, make sure they all work. Then if they do (everything ive ran so far has worked prime), i'm gonna do a clean format/install of XP on my main system. Games so far seem fast! This build blows the doors off the other one I had! Graphic quality isnt as good as Winme yet though.....Like to see nVidia whip us up some tuned WinXp drivers For "beta testing" that is, hehe. Look MOM! I'm cool like jdulmage!! Im a' beta tester, lol

Now is the time for the Linux camp to deliver a OS geared towards to average every day user! WTF is wrong with them? Does MS pay them not to release a average everyday user OS? If the linux camp could execute now, then this could be like the former video card king (3dfx) getting stomped and stomped some more for the KO by the under-dog (nvidia). Funny how every day joe blow can log onto a ***** FTP and download the beta the day it was released with all the necessary cracks to get around the activation when developers who realy need it can't even get it when they *paid* for a MSDN subsription, lol! I know more then one place to d/l it if you want it that bad, Greg. I could download the latest build to check out myself but i'm just not interested in XP anymore. I planned on *buying* the final retail the first chance I could, no matter what, just to have it. But i'm just not gonna deal with their lame/strict schemes for my hard-earned money! For christ sakes, IT ONLY A STUPID OPERATING SYSTEM!! Heck, the only possible way I could tolerate those lame activation crap is to d/l the *****ed version of the final for free! Linux! Hhhhmm... Install and make it run correctly without an internet connection? Well ive been runnin WinMe since RTM, had it WAY before it hit the store shelves, and have yet to venture to the microsoft's update site. Even to see what updates where availible. Have no reason too, everything runs- A.O.K. Nothing locks up here and I abuse my system ten times more then most people! How many people do you know that has a system running the agp bus at well over 100MHz - The FSB at 157MHz+ on a BX chipset super stable!?!?!? Hhmmppfff! If anything, I should be having the lockups and problems. The only time I remember having a BSOD is when I had a badly scratched disk that the CD-Rom was having difficulty reading, tried to take it out while it was trying to read it and got a dirty cd error BSOD, not the os's fault the CD was badly scratched. Other then that, no stablility problems, even running super high, out of spec buss speeds. I'm not trying to put WinMe in the light but it just boggles my mind that someone could have so many problems with it. Come on now, tell the *truth* guys, hehe. You guys installed it by upgrading from a previous OS that was already cluster phucked with all your apps, games, whatever and was just to lazy to reinstall everything when your current OS was already due for a clean install and just popped the WinMe Cd in and upgraded without a clean install and won't cop to it.

Is it realy all that much better? Does it look any different? Can ya post us some screenshots? I know where to d/l it, but just not interested enough to d/l it on a 56k.

This is the only reason why I wont be upgrading/sidegrading to XP. Why should the legit users have to deal with this? You know how many legit buyers of 3dStudio Max used cracks so they didn't have those hardware lock dongle's messing up their systems? I gotta give it to Microsoft, they are #1 at alienating the very customers they rely on. Oh well, I was able and willing to "buy" XP the first day of it's release, but to have to through that kinda fud is totaly uncalled for! Yes, I know their will possibly be cracks to get around this but i'm not even going down that road anymore. If I pay my hard earned money for it, I shoudn't have to use crack/hacks and go through major non-needed hassles to enjoy it. They change it so it's normal like all the other OS's ive bought from them, i'll be the first one here on this msg board posting pics of my reciept of my legit copy of XP.
