    Cheating the Installshield setup program

I tried one of them Installshield trial apps (Tuner I think) but couldn't make it work. But yeah, I'd sure like to try some other stuff too, go ahead and email me.
  2. Does anyone know if there's a way to make the Installshield setup program think the program is being installed to w9x instead of W2K? Most W95-games are installed with this program and 95% of them complain about the OS not being W95. You'd think this wouldn't be too hard to get around. And no, apcompat.exe doesn't work, at least not for me, nor does QFixApp included with the W2K Support Tools.

    Old Win95 games

Intlharvester: Thanks for the advice, but since my C-drive is ntsf, I can't use Win9x. And yes, I did check that advice out before heading to the boards. However, I did get an idea; I could try to get it to work under Bochs. Does anyone know where I could get a Bochs that has a pre-installed Dos/Win9x ? I have the installation disks, but I can't make a Dos/Win9x bootdisk.

    Old Win95 games

I'm having trouble installing older W95 games, specifically Magic: The Gathering in this case. When I run setup it says the program can only be installed on Windows 95 and ends the setup. I've tried using apcompat.exe, but the program just hangs when I try to run setup.exe from it. I guess this is a pretty basic problem, but I couldn't find a solution from the FAQs so what the hell..
