Sorry for the long time to reply, but I have tried newer and older versions, they seem to work in Shareware mode, but once I get the registered (legally) copy off of my friend, it just crashes when it tries to run. Even when I crack it with a tested crack it won't run registered. Also, I should have been much more specific in my question, and am sorry for any trouble (and flaming messages) I have caused.

Networking in XP is supposed to be easy right? I guess I am a dumbass then. For some strange reason, my network works perfectly. BUT, I cannot get sharing to work on my computer. The default shared folder is fine, but I cannot share drives and folders by just right clicking on the drive and going to Sharing. Anyone know what's wrong? This is really peculiar... I am trying to network XP and 98SE (x2) over a 100mbit network, running DLink cards.

Sigh, if I cause that much trouble I'll just shut up.

I know what you mean. But they are damn good sound cards, so I might as well try WinXP Beta 2. Now that my Video card comes with drivers for win2k.

Will Beta 2 work flawlessly with Aureal sound cards?

I agree, USB is faster, 12mbps I think compared to the slow rate of a PS/2 port (though on keyboards I don't think you will see much latency ) I have everything on USB, and that's 5 perifials in total. I have had no problems, and the boot is still lightning fast with XP on my ancient K6-2 450

I gotta question.. I am an avid gamer + music mixer, and I have an Aureal Vortex 2 SuperQuad 2500, but Aureal is long gone out of business. How does Microsoft plan to deal with this? All the Win2K drivers for it are beta WDM and don't work in many games or A3D apps. Will XP support 9x drivers? That would be the best, or will MS release their own set?

Hmmm, jdulmage, I never saw that info. Plus, no one is making Aureal Drivers. I have tried old NT4 drivers that are worth **** for XP. Oh well, looks like I'll have to wait for that fix from MS.

I am a avid beta tester... and there is one major problem with XP. Drivers. If you don't own a new card, then you are screwed over. I own a Aureal Vortex 2 2500 SuperQuad, and am yet to find drivers for it (Win2K) that are not Beta WDM. The problem is that Aureal was bought by Creative (the bastards) and now I don't have any resources. If anyone else has this problem then please reply and help me out.
