Player 5.1 100Mbps 3Com NIC HP Travan 8GB Dat Running W2k Server SP-2 Well might not be the highest config out there for those of you people who knows more than enough for my work. And most importantly It does not crash! I only have to reboot occasionaly due to MS patches or new SW.

Yes but SP2 it does not... That was the main point of SP2 apart from 2 pages long security patches "THE LEGACY SUPPORT" OR AS MUCH OF IT AS YOU CAN GET

Hey clutch for this problem if it really pisses you off. contact microsoft and ask for the new ODBC drivers. That sorts it out...

Hi again JMD. But Quite frankly i disagree with you there are no driver problems whatsoever on w2k the reason being for most of the devices you don't even need drivers w2k comes with it. And let me now all those messages you see on these forums are caused buy people who overclock, does not know how to build a computer such. I am an Independent IT consultant working in london and I recommended it to all my customers and all of them are verry happy with but you have to have at least 256MB of RAM for it to work with any decency. It is stable, you don't get blue screen fatal exceptions, you don't get GPF's. If a program crashes you can just terminate it and continue working just like in NT4. Coming to the SErvice Packs. Well We have received SP2 from MS about a week in advance and teste4d it for 2 weeks on our own network, www and DNS servers before deploying to anybody. Quite frankly the only problem we had was one of the Dell DNS servers froze while rebooting and we had to go down to the building and reset it. which it worked just fine afterwards. (Although it might have been the IIS5 patch as well I dunno!) I hope this helps as well PS. If you wanna avoid problems steer clear from winXP

Hi, First of all I have not managed to get the usb port on a single bloody NT4 machine to work despite all those patches and claims. so just forget about it It doesn't work. Coming to your AGP port. You are seein an image on your screen don't you? Then it works AGP is actually just a bus structure and it is controlled by the bios (in lamen terms) it does not matter what OS you use your cards will always work because they are using another OS, your bios namely Coming to your win2k dual boot I have only one qouestion; WHY? If you have the win2k just install it, scrap NT4 and get it over with. Everything that worked under NT will work under 2k since windows 2000 is actually Windows NT 5. Also your USB port and half a dozen other devices that are not supported under windows NT including your future webcam will work just fine. I hope it helped. PS. I also suggest upgrading all your Hard disks to NTFS 5

EZ CD 5 and Nero 5.0 or 5.5 works fine together. The only thing you should NOT DO IS: Install Ahead InCD. Packet CD and Direct CD does not, can not and will not work together aunder any circumstance. But Nero an EZCD is fine as far as I am concerned atough i do have it installed i dunno why anybody would wanna use ezcd while nero is out there. Last Night it crashed with an out of memory message on a 512Mb 75GB x2 system with about 90GB free drive spaces So I would like to congratulate it's engine programmers on creating the most massive code. However be careful with nero since loads of small files and over 10x writing is a lethal combination due to it's cache handling no matter how fast or good your hard drive's are.

If you have a normal TNT Card with 8 or 16 meg try lowering the resolutio for the game. this should help since your problem seems to be that also disable 3d Sound if you've enabled it. and add more memory to your system P3500 is more than enough but w2k kernel requires 128 at least and you probably have 10-20 Mb of physical free memory. Hope it helps!

If you wanna play moo2 install w2k sp2. it has nothing to do with video or mouse drivers. It works perfectly fine and fast under sp2

Get a decent CD-Rom with high access speed not fake 200x or something. Creative, LG and likes are especially known for their crappy access speed. But if this is out of Question try disbaling DMA in control panel or enabling it depending on you HW. Also of you have a newer CD make sure it is as UDMA in bios. Uykucu

If it smells the same and looks the same and sounds the same it is the same... there is no difference between v8 and 8.0a except compatibility and driver update for newer cards processors. And if anybody is interested I can send you a 600 Page white paper about Fooling Benchmark, how unreliable they are etc.. If a CPU/GPU has a certain MIPS capacity you can not exceed it no matter what you do including overclocking, new drivers etc. It is the number of Transistirs in there and how they are wired Sorry to shatter your fantasy's Guys Uykucu

Hey Guy's if it was ready and you were supposed to have it You could have downloaded 6.67 and 7 something from nVidia )) Stick to 6.50 it is tested and working brilliantly except in Homeworld for some reason. Uykucu

If you have a CD recorder try using Clone CD or Blind Read. Former is better at tackling protected disks since it can read sub-channel data and the hole 2048Byte sector but latter is a better program then you don't have to use any cracks. If you use Blind read you can also use Nero to burn the images once you extarct them but it doesn't always work on games like Diablo II. so stick to Clone. Download it from its page and you can find a crack anywhere.

Moo2 does not work under w2k. It looks like it does but once you enter the game mouse keeps locking up and u have to press mouse buttons to release it. It is verry frustrating and you don't have much control on where your cursor is. Sorry Tough

Don't even try it.. Unless you have some kind of sick wish to re-install win2k afterwards. W2k works just fine and ME sucks. If you have to have 95 Kernel than get a second HD and install it there. I won't recommend partitioning. Contrary to popular thinking it doesnt make you safe or faster. It actually slows down your system and if 1 partition goes all goes eventually and you can't possibly recover them. The Second HD does not have to be 50-60 GB a meager 10 GB will be more than enough for your games.
