Quote: Anyways, like many who want to put in a modest burner that seems to work and play well with others, I would suggest a TDK VeloCD. Reason - they just work. And i recemmend a Philips or Yamaha. When u are getting a new one, you might as well get the real thing.

Quote: I think you can get privateer 2 working with the joystick by manually entering the calibration info into the priv2.cfg file. Didnt have a chance to try it yesterday but ill see if i can have a go later. How did it go? also do you have some reference on configuring Joysticks? or just mail me the config file if not much trouble. My meager knowledge of various programming skills does not extend to such a high level

Exactly what is the problem? I understand it involves context menus and somehow any folder. If it shows for files & drives then it is there....

Or you can just order a new media from MS costs you $30 and arrives in 2 days

This is a problem on W2k with external devices. They need to be powered up when you reboot. If you forget for some reason, go to device manager and just do a scan for HW Changes. Or just reboot if this sounds too complicated (modem powered up this time) There is absolutely nothing dodgy about your com ports etc. if you have installed it in the first place and used it at least once.

Umph, can't think of anything apart from restoring the backup, restoring the offline version of profiles (if still exist) and hanging that specific individual to the building entrance from his testicles just as an example. That ought to teach them not to mess with everything they see. Bit more info might be useful, not that i have much hope. Like server version/config and client OS's... Worst case scenario, you create the shortcuts again.... Oh BTW Congratulations on great administration. Does security audits and file permissions mean anything?

I am not totally sure but it sounds too weird to be accurate. a PSU may effect many things in a computer, ESCD is not one of them. Nor is the IRQ settings and the OS installing drivers. I will look in to it today.

Ok, calculate this, how often are you using 100% of 512 KB? and how many servers do you think can stream even that? Especially if you are in to heavy dodgy downloads most of them suck! You can get full BW only from sites like MS or ZDNet

Quote: I'll use Trillian when they update their ICQ module to download contacts from the ICQ servers. I will use it when it also updates your contacts on the ICQ server... used it for a while, going back was troublesome.

Istanbul, 35 yesterday, 33 day before. 29 today and i am grateful. It is amazing with what you can be grateful. Try living in london for 7 years and then this! No wonder economy is so bad here.

Can I get seconds to show on clock?
Uykucu replied to HELLBRINGER's topic in Customization & Tweaking
Nope, but you can get one of those java or active x desktop clocks which used to be so popular. or you can write an asp page and display it in the BG i guess. I personally hide the clock, saves me space. -
No need for tweak UI, it happens depending on the web site, if it has refresh command on it, that this thing is driving you nuts. You just have to live with it. I do. BTW it ain't UK specific. It happens everywhere since the IE code is the same everywhere. You might wanna check the latest patches for IE, i haven't bothered.

Do you have the same usernames and passwords in both boxes? It seems you are running a P2P over TCP/IP make sure the passwords are the same. If so, to check the system is working go to the \\"OthersIP or Comp Name"\c$ It will ask you for a username & pass if the accounts are not synch. To correct this, just change the pass on one of the boxes. or give the share permission for everyone if security is not an issue.

just a thought, this is a problem with SB 128, live and many other cards. Go to windows sound mixer., go to properties, and pick recording. there you can select which devices you record from.... I hope it helps. This problem of yours i have seen many times with TV Cards and this being the silly solution has the capacity of driving us nuts! We just can't think uncomplicated i guess!

I wish there was a way to make the new Joysticks work with old games... I have the same problem on USNF97 and ATF Gold. Privateer 1 and 2 are also the pain... It just is not the same without a stick. Addition: VDM Loader claims it can emulate it, but i haven't had any luck with it. But then i haven't tried hard enough yet. if anybody succeeds please share it here

Nope, had a thread exactly same a week ago.... For your info, all outlook info is kept in a pst file, and you can seperate the calendat and keep it in a different pst file and share it over the network but then only one user can access it simultaneously. There is asmall SW package that does it but it is sold for about $80 and works via e-maili. So it is no good either and with that cost you might as well get Exchange. For the immediate solution, have them right click on the item they wish to share and send it to the others via e-mail forward Let me know if you find any other solution. I also thought about batch synch with a batch file or script but decided aginst it since you can only have one master to do that.

Maximum distance for an unpowered USB Cable is about 5mt's. Beyonf that too much interference. You can extend it with using powered hubs every five meters but.... Bandwith for all the devices you are talking about is out of the question there is just so much of it and they are a bit greedy (devices) about it. However if the cost was not an issue, There is something called USBX from a UK company. It works as transmitter/receiver you plug your USB devices on the transmitter (client, where you want them) and plug the main station(s) on your PC, and run a Cat5e cable in between. Neat! Works great a bit pricey though. I used them for tight client CCTV solution I do not have their address handy, but i will look for it and post it here.

Use VDM Sound if you are not already doing so. They have a new utility called VDM Loader, it is a nice applet which you can set memory emulations etc. in a much greater detail then NT's own interface. address?: http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vdmsound/

You are looking at a nice reinstall i am afraid. One of my guys did that once, it took him the hall night to sort it. and he reinstalled in the end. Have you ever spent 7 hours between cabinets

XP Definetely looks neater but i am still all for 2k. just when i was ready to forgive MS for releasing Win XP Beta (Ithink it might even be an alpha) under the name final!!!. a 6 hour in total troubleshooting session reminded me in full why i still prefer XP!!! And no it was even an intel chipset with P4

I had tried this with 3Com's when they first come out, despite it said it is not possible. Well i couldn't make it work. But i take your word for it DosFreak.
