  1. Thank you very much for taking the time to post this update! As you indicated, there may indeed be light at the end of the tunnel ;-)
  2. has anyone seen Windows 2000 drivers for the Mustek 600 II CD Scanner? Do the NT4 drivers work under 2000? I did find the following article on this site about using a generic DTC-3181 SCSI driver, but the link is broken. Any help on this would also be greatly appreciated! ----------------------------- Saturday, October 30, 1999 SCSI Scanners under Windows 2000 Julian Mehnle send me the follow: "I saw that you posted the Mustek 600 II CD as not working under Win2000. According to the Mustek web site, the scanner uses the DTC-3181 SCSI card: http://www.mustek.com/Imaging/drivers/devicedrivers/600iicd.htm As I don't have that scanner (only the SCSI card with another scanner), I can't tell for sure, but I guess if you use the DTC-3181 Win2k drivers (http://www.ntcompatible.com/files/dtc3x8x-win2k.zip) supplied by me, the scanner should be working (if you install the TWAIN drivers of course). The DTC-3181 is often bundled with SCSI scanners. It is built upon the Domex 436 chip. The 3181/3151/3x8x can all use the same drivers. The card doesn't use an IRQ, only direct I/O, and therefore is very slow and causes 100% CPU load during use, even under NT4/W2000 (and I *mean* 100%!!). But it does work. The delayed Win2k bootup is normal with these drivers, and other scanners do work fine with them!"
