  1. has anyone seen Windows 2000 drivers for the Mustek 600 II CD Scanner? Do the NT4 drivers work under 2000? I did find the following article on this site about using a generic DTC-3181 SCSI driver, but the link is broken. Any help on this would also be greatly appreciated! ----------------------------- Saturday, October 30, 1999 SCSI Scanners under Windows 2000 Julian Mehnle send me the follow: "I saw that you posted the Mustek 600 II CD as not working under Win2000. According to the Mustek web site, the scanner uses the DTC-3181 SCSI card: http://www.mustek.com/Imaging/drivers/devicedrivers/600iicd.htm As I don't have that scanner (only the SCSI card with another scanner), I can't tell for sure, but I guess if you use the DTC-3181 Win2k drivers (http://www.ntcompatible.com/files/dtc3x8x-win2k.zip) supplied by me, the scanner should be working (if you install the TWAIN drivers of course). The DTC-3181 is often bundled with SCSI scanners. It is built upon the Domex 436 chip. The 3181/3151/3x8x can all use the same drivers. The card doesn't use an IRQ, only direct I/O, and therefore is very slow and causes 100% CPU load during use, even under NT4/W2000 (and I *mean* 100%!!). But it does work. The delayed Win2k bootup is normal with these drivers, and other scanners do work fine with them!"
  2. Thank you very much for taking the time to post this update! As you indicated, there may indeed be light at the end of the tunnel ;-)
