Forcing FSAA gives BSOD in Win2k

Hi i am using windows 2000 pro with a geforce2 gts gfx card. I currently use the 6.47 detonator drivers (i kno they r a lil old but they run really well on my system - better than some of the more recent ones too). Anyhow, recently i have found that when i go into the control panel and enable d3d aa at any setting, and tell it to force this in every program i get a bsod as soon as i start any direct3d game. However if i do not tell it to force this, but still enable aa everything is fine although it seems that my games do not take advantage of it then and i see no aa. Everything else runs fine, and i also dualboot this with win98 which the same drivers and this has no problems...hope u can help me, i have tried reinstalling the drivers but its still the same and i didn't used to get this problem b4. Thanks

Forcing FSAA gives BSOD in Win2k

owww, damn... i kno that the error msg refers to nv4_disp.dll or something simalar i can remember now, but later drivers did work ok. Has anyone had experience in mixing driver versions, like maybe adding in the later version of the nv4_disp.dll?

Forcing FSAA gives BSOD in Win2k

yep i have tried numerous drivers, newer ones like the 10.80s, 12.00s and the 7 series...but with all of these i find my aa problem is cured however my refresh rate is limited to 75hz max i have tried the refresh rate fix, standard monitor drivers, manufactures drivers.. (iyyama vm pro 510) and reinstalled/deinstalled more times than i care to remember but still wont go no higher thats why i stuck to the 6 series. Yet i can install the 647's, 650's or other 6 series drivers and i can go straight up to 120hz, 100hz which i use atm. If some1 knows how to fix this refresh rate problem it would be very helpful, i dont have this in windows 98 at all and all drivers operate with all refresh rates availible in that os. Thanks.

    Win2k / Winxp DUAL-BOOT PROBLEMS

I dualboot windows 98se and windows 2000 pro...my c: drive has win98 and my d: drive has win2000 then i also have another 3 drives which i use for storage (all drives/partitions are physical)Also i have set my windows 2000 paging file (768mb) on my last physical hard disk g: I got my windows xp rc1 preview cd yesterday so i decided to upgrade my windows 98 install to it, all went fine and i could boot into windows xp and use it with no problems...but...as soon as i booted win2k the 1st dos progress bar (starting windows 2000...) seemed to have disapeared although i could hear disk activity, then after the windows 2000 logo all seemed to load ok up until the point where the desktop was almost going to appear (after setting profiles blah) then i got a bsod STOP: blah blah PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA ADDRESS 8052AF51 BASE AT 804D0000 DATESTAMP 3AD7AD60 - NTOSKRNL.EXE I tried a number of things to fix it, playing with my paging settings mainly which had no effect so in the end i put everything back to how it was that i had changed to get it right...then i went into xp and uninstalled it to revert to win98 - now everything is fine I hope some1 can help me with this, i would like to try windows xp and see what all the fuss is about, but not at the expense of my brilliantly running win2k install I kno this is a double post from the other dualboot question but it seemed either nobody knew the answer to this question, or the original post stopped people from looking at more recent replies to it. Thanks again.

    Whistler Application Compatibility Toolkit

Hi, just saw this post for the first time..heh bit of a newbie but just like to say this is a wicked site, helped me out with a lot of stuff lately but i am very interested in this app compatibility toolkit that dos freak has - is it right that this WILL run under win2k?? And is it possible to e-mail me it when u get time, size permitting and that as there are a few games that have been mentioned in the forum that wouldnt run properly under win2k and this may help me solve it...i dual boot win2k and win98 atm but i would really like to ditch win98 (just plain sux) and keep to win2k cuz its only the few odd games that i run in win98 that wouldnt run in win2k. Thanx. Oh, btw if u can e-mail me the files....here is my addy keith.mason3@btinternet.com.
