I'm new at Win2K & I say it rocks. My only problem is EAX in games. For some reason games sound weird in Win2K, in WinME I could hear the voices in the game "Alice" & when I shot the shock rifle in "Unreal Tournament". Now in Win2K it's the oposite, now the voices (talking) in "Alice" are real quite yet the background sounds are loud, & in "Unreal Tournament" the shock rifle effects are quite, as are my jumping grunts & etc, but when it comes to my rocket launcher it's loud!! Complete oposite as before. I'm using the lastest LiveWare & drivers, the only thing that is different I believe is how I have my speakers setup under properties. In WinME I had it setup as "Surround Sound" (using FPS1000 speakers), however in Win2K when I select "Surround Sound" it always goes to "Quadraphonic". Know what the problem is?

It's not any different. When I login as "administator" it's all the same.

I want to make sure my sound is setup correctly. Here is what my DxInfo says, I installed the latest LiveWire for Win2k. ------------- Sound Devices ------------- Description: SB Live! Wave Device Device ID: PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0002&SUBSYS_80271102&REV_08 Manufacturer ID: 1 Product ID: 100 Type: WDM Driver Name: emu10k1f.sys Driver Version: 5.12.01.3107 (English) Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Certified: Yes Date and Size: 5/5/2000 12:50:18, 279301 bytes Other Files: Driver Provider: Creative HW Accel Level: Full Registry: OK Sound Test Result: Does this info look correct? Am I using the latest? Why do I see a sound update under my Windows Update's device drivers?

Recently I was checking out some "tweak" guides related to services. All recommend to disable "Alerter". My problem is I have no alerter in my services!! Where did it go? I'm also missing some other stuff, small stuff like "Computer Browser" & etc. Why/how? Older Windows version? (5.00.2195). Also I think I have login features wrong. I'm the only one that uses my computer. When my machine boots to Windows a login screen comes up but auto logs me in as "my name" which has admin permissions. Why when I install programs most of the time I cannot edit/remove the shortcuts on the startmenu via add/remove shortcuts (also on the startmenu)? It seems I have to do it manual by going into the main folder. Example: I install PSP. It throws a shortcut to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs Then when I try to edit the shortcut via the manager under settings, taskbar it goes to: C:\Documents and Settings\Jason Xtreme\Start Menu\Programs Well since the shortcut isnt their I have to manualy delete/edit it. Know what I mean?
