I think you can do just that with XP PowerToys.

I use WebBlinds fron Stardock that has the ability to stop all pop-ups and displays a red IE icon for each pop-up, very useful ! WebBlinds comes with ObjectDesktop suite, but could possibly be ordered separately... Hope this helps you also !

Maybe you didn't catch what I've tried to explain: Messenger 4.6 installed, when I uninstall Messenger Plus 1.41c and install 1.41a I can hide the advertisement, the option is available and not greyed. Then, I install Messenger Plus 1.41c over 1.14a: the ads are STILL hiden, but the option is greyed 'ON', not that it annoys me, but I don't understand. Any hint ? I could as well wait for an update of Messenger Plus... Thank you !

I can't attach a file (.jpg) with OE nor online with my mail provider, IE closes all windows and voila. So I guess it is not really related to OE...

Does anyone know when SP1 for WindowsXP is due to ? Because I encounter sudden crash while playing a game (i.e: Soul Reaver 2), with a message at reboot telling me there was a Cx0000005 Access Violation... Could it be a SBLive issue just like in Win2k ? Any hints welcomed !

As for myself: IBM is n°1, then Maxtor and Western Digital. Samsung's drive are cheap and very low at work, just the same for Seagate (though they're doing High Level drives). And 5400 is really low ! Why hesitate for an ata133 ?

You can use "BandVWM" from STARDOCK, but I think it is a component of their ObjectDesktop (WindowBlinds, IconPackager, WindowFX,...). I have their software (around 40$) suite and think one can do amazing things... http://www.stardock.com

I gave a try to TRILLIAN all-in-one messenger, but how come I didn't find the way to tell it to warn me (pop-up) when a new mail arrives (like MSN Messenger does -I have a Hotmail account-) ? TRILLIAN set itself to the system tray to do what ? If I have to keep TRILLIAN open in front of my eyes to see my mails arrive, what's the use of it ? Thank to anyone for a tip, 'cause I didn't found the trick...

You're right Palos, but I want a visual warning (pop-up in the system tray like MSN Messenger does), I don't want to have to hover the mouse like you said to know wether I have mail or not. Is there a way to manage this ? Thanx again !

Maybe you already thought about this simple one: just boot on your XP cd and, when prompted, delete the partition and ask XP to create a brand new partition with fast format (NTFS of course). Isn't it simple ? Hope it helps you !

Some friend of mine had to install Win2K pro over itself (don't ask me why, I don't know, to solve a problem I guess), everything went well, except for one thing (though not this problematic): the F8 boot menu has seen each one of its lines dupplicated (2 Safe Mode, 2..., 2...)... Any idea about this ? How to set things right back ? Thanx.

Hem, Xiven in a clean install of win2k, there are no lines for 'Safe Mode', 'Last known...', so I doubt they will be there in the boot.ini on my friend's pc, are you sure it is not somewhere else ? Thank you, or anyone else !
