Also, I have seen on some older laptops, they have trouble installing an OS from a burned CD. Just a thought. How old is the Compaq?
-
Wow...that seems a little high. Those boards are selling for $50 online.
-
I am interested in the motherboard and memory. Do you have some prices? If either post here or send me and email at nes@drexel.edu. Thanks.

Aren't you Radeon users used to having weird problems in games? That game runs perfect for me with my Geforce3 Ti200. I am amazed at all the people who hav yet to figure out that ATI's cards are bad because of poor drivers. And considering that ATI denies it's a problem, when confronted (www.hardocp.com), then your paying for a POS.

Version 7 works great under XP. That guy must have another problem or issue. No needs for patches or anything, it works great. BTW, I use NTFS and it works fine with that too.
-
I use the 21.85s from Visiontek for my Visiontek Geforce3 Ti200. I have no problems at all.
-
Anyone one else have any ideas? The changing of screen resolutions, etc isn't working for me. ATI cannot figure it out. Anyone?
-
Do any of you guys have NVidia cards? If so, what chipset and what drivers are you running? I have a GTS, using a bunch of different drivers. Won't even work in Win2000 Pro, much less XP. I get no video, just sound.
-
Yeah, you have the best version at this time. If your CD isn't bootable, check around on how to make it bootable, then your all set.
-
Unless your dual booting, I would run with NTFS. With the speed of today's machines, you won't notice a difference in performance.

ATI TV Wonder + Win2k = Sick game of russian roulette

I have a similar setup as you, and can't get any picture. My sound works great, I just have solid black for the picture. I am looking for a fix now. -
I have the TV Tuner only card, but it shares the same drivers, and it works fine. Just get the latest 2000 appilication and drivers, and you'll be fine.

How do I turn off the integrated photo viewer?

When you installed ACDSee, you were supposed to pick to change the file types to open with ACDSee...it's part of the install. By the way, 4.0 works great under XP. -
I did a fresh install after formatting the drives, and came up with 1.5 GB....and that includes a 450 MB page file.
-
ResHacker should be able to do it too...and it's free
-
I love the card, sounds great, etc. BUt I will really love it when Creative releases the XP drivers it promised by the 25th.
-
You also need a program called ResHacker. Works great with a lot of programs.

Question about via 4in1 4.33 under WinXp
djnes replied to bonkers325's topic in Customization & Tweaking
There is really no need to install them in XP. It seems like everything works great without them. Gaming performance is great right after the install...with some minor tweaking of course. -
If your just wanting to lock your workstation, it is Win Key + L.

Just did fresh install of WinXP Final 2600, Best Performance

www.tweakXP.com has some good stuff too. -
I have the same card. According to ATI, they should be releasing drivers soon for all their cards for XP. Sucks having to wait, but if it works, then it's worth it.
-
As long as WinDVD and PowerDVD run on your box, either one is a god choice.
-
I am running it now. Sounds great with my Klipsch speakers. Only difference is that you don't get the games, etc. Just drivers, cards, and cables.
-
Everything installs for me, but there is no picture. Hopefully in a week or so they will release drivers for XP.
