Hi, I hope someone can help me. I am running win2k with directx8.1 and I am having ptoblems with firewire. I have an external firewire hdd and this is detected fine. I also have an Epson Stylus photo 2100 which has a firewire port but when this is plugged in the system does not see it. I am having the same problem with a Panasonic camcorder. i am using a DLink firewire card. I was using a generic firewire card but changed it to the dlink just in case that was the problem. Hi, The DLink card uses the MS built in drivers, none are supplied with the card. I am using SP3 and have done a "Windows Update". Regards Bob

Nero have a fix for the burner problem on their web site. The scanner I don't know.

Mostly it does not matter how you orientate modern drives. However it may have an effect upon shock absobing. I know this applies to the Quantum Atlas 10K II. If you really want to know for a particular drive visit the drive manufacturers site. They have information as to how the drive should be mounted and used.
