No, JK runs perfectly for me.
-
Ah yes, now that you mention it, that's exactly what happens to me too. Anyone got any solutions?

I have this same problem, but it is much more random. Most of the time the status bar is there for me, but sometimes its not... anyone got any ideas?

Just installed fine, and plays great for me on XP Pro.

oribiasi, did you not notice that he said he's already tried the DetonatorXP drivers? TheEnder, said he tried 21.81, 21.83, and 21.85. Just thought I'd point that out. As to your problem Ender, I'm stumped. Hoppfuly someone will respond that knows of a solution.

Worked for me as well, but I still get periodic pops and crackles... perhaps the official version that is supposed to be released later this month will bet more improved?

Quote: I've got the original SBLive! Value and it works fine... Any improved sound quality? My SB Live! value pops and crackles sometimes now that I've switched to XP.

I know the deskjet 712c is supported by XP without any additional software, but I'm still having printing issues. I can print from Notepad just fine, but any other program screws up. The printer will activate and begin to print the document, but it stops and just sits there after printing about the first centimeter of the document. The blinking green light keeps flashing, but the printer cartridges slide back to their "parked" posistion, and the print job disappears from the print queue. Here are my specs. Abit KT7A-Raid w/ 3R bios Athlon 1.2Ghz 256MB PC133 Geforce2-mx 400 SB Live! Value WinXP Pro Any Thoughts?

Ok, I just realized that the problem is with either my scanner or external zip drive. Since the printer was connected to the end of the chain of devices, something was strange was going on. When I plugged the printer into the computer directly, it worked fine. Now to isolate the problem to either the zip drive or scanner.

What do yall think is the best sound card to get ? I am on a

I'm running an Abit KT7A-RAID myself. I'm using a SB Live! Value non-5.1 card, and its working pretty well. I get some occasional pops and crackles, but nothing that bad and it is rare. Of course I wouldn't really recommend buying a SB Live! since it is kind of outdated now, especially with all the new cards coming out. Oh, and I'm running win2k also. -
I've been bouncing around these forums all day, I forgot which section I was in... sorry about that.

Works for me. I'm using version 1.4 Build 148 in Win2k with a Geforce2 MX-400.

Well said FadedTimes.

And of course those statements are simply your opinion. Speaking of Quantum, a friend of mine has had some trouble with them. Although he does have an old Quantum Bigfoot drive that still works, heh.

I agree, I've had some good luck with Maxtor drives..... My dad has a 6.8Gb Maxtor in his system, still running great, and I have a 13.6Gb ATA/66 7200rpm drive that has never given me any problems.
-
I remember saying something like that when my father purchased a new computer years ago. It had a 2.5Gb hard drive and I said something like, "I'll never fill that up." Filled it up. I have a 13.6Gb drive in my computer now, almost completely filled. 100Gb drive is no different. Someone will fill it up, if not with today's applications but certainly tomorrow's.

I haven't tried it yet. I'm waiting for some opinions on it. So anyone who's tried this beta bios, lets hear what you have to say!
-
Well, I bought a copper CPU spacer as well, that should improve heat transmission...well, hopfully.

Yeah, I've got one 80mm fan in the front drawing in air, and then another 80mm fan in the back pushing air out...Then there is the power supply fan of course. I think my computer will be a little warm, but it shouldn't really cause me many problems.

I just bought a 1.2Ghz Athlon and I decided to go with the Tai Sol CGK742092B HS/Fan. Here's a pic, what do you all think?

Thanks for the tip!

Anyone got any opinions on the Abit ST6-RAID? I'm looking at upgrading, and it seems to have some sweet features. One thing that was slightly disapointing was that the maximum amount of ram is only 512MB.
-
I ended up buying the Abit KT7A-RAID, a 1.2Ghz Athlon, and one of the newer Geforce 2 MX400 64Mb. I totally agree with you on the hard drive speed. I'm currently using a 7200rpm ATA/66 drive, so its not extremely slow, but I'm not really in need of an upgrade on that.
