Has anybody had the issue with the Audigy and WinXP where the sound is very choppy during certain game cinematics? I am having issues with choppy sound in Red Alert II and Civilization III, I have installed the update supplied by Creative as well.

I guess I am the only one with this issue.

This was just posted to the Creative Labs Audigy message board. --------------------------------------------------------------- The driver update for Windows XP will be available from http://www.soundblaster.com/support/drivers/ on Friday. (U.S. time) As with all .wdm drivers this release may also be used with Windows 2000. -- Harvey Fong Technical Marketing Spe[censored]t Audio Products Creative Labs Inc. http://www.soundblaster.com

Has anybody heard rumors of what actual date (no, not the mid to late October) that Creative is going to be releasing Windows XP drivers for the Live and Audigy series?

Pure opinion here guys, does Windows XP suck for gaming? Or is it better than 2k, 98SE, and ME put together?

I understand that people do want to be running the lastest and greatest, and for some people (mainly people that have recently bought a machine with XP pre-installed) they may not have a choice. For the others though, I recommend you go back to a more proven OS, namely Windows 2000 or Windows 98SE. You are guaranteed to have less frusterations with those until a few things happen. One being manufacturers releasing more tuned and optimized XP drivers, and the other being Microsoft releasing service packs to increase the performance of the OS. Sorry guys, but if something doesn't run (or doesn't run right,) for the next little while, your only choice may be to deal with it. -
Has anybody installed the ATI Multimeda Center v.7.1 TW03? What luck have you had with it? Personally, I haven't had anything but weird problems with it. It seems that when I first install the software, the sound works fine, but when I close the software and open it back up, I can't get the sound to work for the life of me (unless I re-install the software.) I have made sure that the software is mapped to the correct port (the line in,) and I have rebooted the machine several times. But like I said, it will not work unless I reinstall the software. Oh, and yes, I have checked the "mute" check in volume control. They are set correctly. Sys specs: ASUS A7V 256 PC133 MB RAM Hercules Prophet III SB Live! Platinum T-Bird 1 GHz

Hi, today I picked up an SB Audigy Platinum. I am interested in finding out what people's luck has been with this sound card and the final version of XP. Also, general opinions on the SB Audigy (in regards to features, performance, etc.) are welcome as well.
