I have to agree with you guys. Win 2000 is very solid and fast operating system. I personally like NT4 as well but the only thing that bothers me is that NT4 is not so ACPI compatible as Win 2000 is. I've tried XP too - I like on XP fast user switching.I am the whole day at work so I really hate when my mates sometimes reset my computer,which I lock when I am leaving to work in the morning. And what about new look of XP ? Yes it is nice.But after couple of days or weeks it will become ordinary and not so exciting ... Is it good idea to upgrade stable solid system with new one which is not just cheap for few new features ? I think that everybody has to make up his mind alone ... Regards D.

Yeah, GeForce2 MX400 is a good solution if you are not heavy gamer. nVidia has very good support for all M$ operating systems. And what about 32 - 64 MB comparison ? There is very small performance increase due to 64MB,but there is almost no price difference between 32 & 64 too so go with 64MB. Regards D.

Don't forget that NOT ONLY Boot.ini is necessary for XP/NT ... You need NTDETECT.COM and NTLDR too. And I personally don't know any program which can write these two files to the right place on your booting HDD. I can be wrong but I think that only repair function of booting CD can do this. You can try to uninstall it manually.... At first delete the whole directory Microsoft Office and then try to clean up all entries in registry. Hi! I agree,it has to do with your GF2. I have installed RC2 1 week ago.I own GF2 MX400 ,but there were no problems at all during the installation process - the same in all previous builds too. The MS drivers are weak but after installing nVidia Detonators everything rocks. D.

Hi! I have just installed XP RC1 on MB Abit BE6-2v2 with HPT370 Raid. My problem is that when I connect my WD 20GB disk to the HTP370 ATA 100 controller the system has very poor performance. System works better only with disk on standard IDE UDMA33. In Windows 2000 Pro everything works perfect when the disk is connected to the HPT controller.... Maybe the drivers for W2k are not so good for XP. Please any suggestions. D.

Greetings, I have installed Win2K ACT and Whistler ACT 2.0. Still am having no luck with NBA Live 2001. Got the Spanish version of the exe. Still drops me to the desktop when I execute nbawin.exe I get the intro EA Logo then the copyright screen and then it drops me back @ the desktop. Any ideas? I've read the previous NBA thread,but nothing helps. Thank you.. D.

Hi Miku, Yes I tried both versions of the EXE file and full installation too. But I see no difference between starting NBA through normal starting or WACT2 starting.The game always drops me back @ the desktop after the copyright screen. I have Win2000 PRO + SP2 installed Tried to run the game in XP 2462 - there were no problems to run it. The system settings (drivers...) were the same as in W2000. But I'd like to use the game in W2000. One question :When you create a shortcut of NBA on the desktop,can you see the "run in compatibility mode" tab in the shortcut properties? It works only in XP for me... D.
