  1. Sorry, wasn't sure where to post this exactly, but its closest to Hardware I guess... I'm trying to delete a a key in the registry from LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Gameport but it simply won't let me. Administrator, Safe Mode, doesn't matter what, I can't delete anything from that particular key. Is this protected somehow, can it be un-protected, and if it can't, why the freakin' hell not? Thanks, any help is appreciated. (also, is there anyway I could screw around with the win2k registry from win98, so I could possible work around whatever screwy protection it has that way maybe?)
  2. I have an I-will KK266 motherboard, athlon 1.3, and an on-board cmedia 8738 soundcard/gameport. I have the latest service packs, compatibilty updates, drivers, 4-in-1's, etc. I simply can not get my Sidewinder Gamepad (Gameport...the original one) to work on this system. It works perfectly in win98, and people have gotten it to work on win2000, but I just can't seem to fix it. When I click add in gaming options, and select 'Sidewinder (auto-detect)', it detects it as a Sidewinder 3d pro (which it's not) and the status flickers from 'not connected' to 'OK' every few seconds. Anyone got any idea what's going on? Thanks...
